9 months old but makes you wonder how this company has been run http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-business/article-23714054-dr-death-and-the-failures-that-have-earned-him-his-nickname.do
Last Vyke rise came to nothing soon falling back and I missed the opportunity to sell out with a small loss at 18 pence. I need 20p to break even. Will I get it this time, based on experience of this share, not likely. I have to consider selling at some point, might be now?
my profit and run, had held these from 87p with an average of 105. Will be happy enough if it continues to rise, but will be in again if we get below 160. For me this price has come a long way in a relatively short space of time and despite the faith I have in ARM as a company I can see it falling back
this morning look to be being taken pretty well, this has been shooting up in last few mins
I guess this little boost is on back of fact Apple are backing tablet market which is where ARM chips will be strongest. I guess this new i Pad has an Intel chip though I don't know, maybe it will turn out to be Cortex, we'd never be that lucky. Still if Apple looks to succeed we will se a host of tablets out there many will opt for ARM technology. Have been thinking this would run out of steam at this 200 level but maybe not, maybe it might make £3
I have seen a fair bit of ****ging off of you of late and in times past. You had this on little list of shares back in probably Jan2008. So unbeknownst to you I got in this. I have bought and sold a couple of times with very small stakes, this time I have got nice big chunk so am very happy. There is no need for all this ****ging off of anyone, thanks a million...... nezlob ... did lose a few quid on IVE though so you cannot win 'em all
AMD were squeezed unfairly by Intel and it may be that there is more to pay for Intel. How will this effect ARM. Will it mean Intel is distracted by more litigation, and therefore lose sight of some R&D. Maybe a bit too much to hope for. But should mean a more cautious Intel when it comes to any dubious squeezing of ARM. Can Intel deal with two opponents? Will it try and takeout or takeover one?
Article in PC Pro points out how the cpu secondary balance of power is shifting towards ARM. Intel always the top dog by some distance and though threatened by AMD never near toppled, needs to look at ARM. ARMs different business model selling license rather than chips is working out, giving development flexibilty to hardware that Intel restricts. These coming weeks could be last chance to turn ARM into the a real winner investment. This share should soar and it is British, get some in!
recently and is at 5 year high. Long term steady hold for me but not quite sure why performing well just lately, anyone else in this with some info? Sorry to ask something that with effort I might just find answer to myself, but work is very pressing at mo l;eaving me no time to research my shares, so will appreciate help from those with a little time and info
You should have no worries about your shares, you should be contacted regarding offer when it is fully decided .... if you are unsure this will happen ring the broker who sends you the divi...... also if you like the idea of selling you should ring that broker ... I guess there is a broker? Actually there is some info on selling on the FP. website, I guess that is probably for people like you who got issued free shares its www.friendsprovident.co.uk. Look under investors then shareholder services. I am sure things will all fall into place in due course. poppydog ...surpisingly little info on that website re this takeover in fact I found none ... but was pushed for time
Although as far as I can tell it is almost a done deal things appear not to be finalised yet. I am sure shareholders will have to be consulted and the majority accept. Looks at moment like only a recommendation, though I rember at time the press reported it as FP. have succumbed to RSL deal or some such. Assuming it all goes ahead as indicated you will be asked what option you would like to take shares or cash ... and cash is only available for up to 2500 shares per shareholder at least that is how it reads to me. It may be there will be some twists in the tail yet, but I am sure you will have some choices in things as a shareholder. Appears to be dangerously bad advice you were given, which is pretty astonishing!!! I think they are getting at cross purposes it is agreed (compulsory) that they will pay you 79.4p/share should you demand it (for up to 2500 shares)
Hi poppydog. I am sure they are wrong. If you look on www.investegate.co.uk there are RNS's from both companies on 10/11 August. I already posted part of the RSL one and here is what FP. one says 'Friends Provident Group plc ('Friends Provident') confirms that it has received a further proposal on behalf of Resolution Limited ('Resolution'). The Board of Friends Provident believes that this revised proposal has been sufficiently improved to justify entering into discussions with Resolution with a view to recommending its proposal. Prior to the receipt of this proposal Resolution had completed a period of due diligence. The revised proposal is an exchange ratio of 0.9 new Resolution shares for each Friends Provident share. It also includes a partial cash alternative subject to the maximum cash available not exceeding £500 million. For the purposes of Note 7 to Rule 2.4 of the Code, this announcement is not being made with the agreement or approval of Resolution. While discussions are ongoing, there can be no certainty that any offer will result nor as to the terms on which any offer might be made. *************************************** This clearly indicates cash is an alternative to the RSL shares at .9 pershare, I read that as optional. *************************************** I have had no notification of any corporate action which will happen when this is actually being finalised. And the (possible) takeover is still listed in the takeover panel disclosure t
