Https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/17812/edison-investment-research-believes-red-rock-resources-could-be-worth-20pshare-21343.html 23 Sep 2010 [Edison Research Note: RRR could be worth 20p]. CHARLES GIBSON, EDISON looked at RRR ASSETS: "[1] Mt Ida, potentially 1.1-1.3 bn tonnes at 30-40% iron, potential value US$1.165bn. [2] 1.5% Mt Ida Royalty. [3] K E N Y A N= GOLD A S S E T = TOTAL MID-MIGORI RESOURCE IS WORTH AROUND US$304M. [4] Colombian El Limon."
CHARLES GIBSON: Just looked him up at Linkedin. He is a DIRECTOR of Edison, grad of Oxford Uni. Worked at Cazenove Mining Analyst, T.Hoare Cannacord, Cluff Mining Mineral Economist, Edison - Head of Mining. Writes for Money Week, In vestors Chronicle, BBC One, BBC World, LBC, Evening Standard etc. [Current C.V, 12.3.24]
Helpful: I was NOT around at the time of the Edison note. The resident on this forum does NOT accept Investment Banks/Analysts etc methodology of VALUING CO by "ASSETS". Perhaps the resident on this forum thinks a HOUSE ie asset is worth 0? [dont know?]. RRR KENYA has 1.2moz gold [JORC. See FIRST EQUITY NOTE on RRR website and they attribute US$13m to RRR]. At US$2,100 per oz of gold [lower end], Kenya RRR with a JORC is worth US$ 2. 1 BILLION. So, if one were to look at how US$304m is derived today, it is 14.4% of US2.1bn. Helpful, could you kindly fill me in as to HOW Edison valued KENYA OR in those days, the valuation was in the REGION OF 10%+ OF VALUE IN THE GROUND? That is Edison's style ie VALUE AN ASSET VIA VALUE IN THE GROUND. I cant reconcile it as I was NOT around RRR at the time. Paul Johnson would know as he invested in RRR and got his break in life when RRR went to 20p, in real life? Thank you. Yes, I looked at mining via alluvial method. I can see difference between CONCRETE ponds and lined ponds. Always educating myself on engineering works. NIA. RRR tweeted about gold and last I looked, there were 190 views so people are not listening just to the naysayers.
