We know the market wants us to use our cash pile, just a question of getting the 'right' deal. We know that 'paperwork' is taking much, much longer to process due to covid, just ask the buyers/sellers in the housing chains atm. It's no excuse but I'm hoping that's the case and wheels are in motion, just they are turning at a snails pace atm. I would hate to think we are no further forward than this time last year.

Surely the re-costing exercise should only take a fraction of the time it took when specking from scratch .... should the quotes not be able to be turned around quicker than Q1 2021. The contractors/suppliers should turn these around in a matter of days if our spec remains unchanged... spreadsheet exercise imo

Back at end of Sept Credit Suisse has us at Outperform from 180.00 to new target 185.00.

So more and more brokers are now seeing, or should I say 'advertising' value here (shorts are a closing, or be it, slowly imo).

Agree, 2 years pay is the same as Joe Bloggs working for 70 years service. So assuming you was employed at 19, you would need to be still working at 89 for that type of entitlement. Even at 1 year would mean having to work until you were 54. On top of that you would get the BT pension, PLUS state ....

Think you find I'm 100% correct my friend, money is already in account. That's not to say it can not be debited should that occur.

Forgot to add, the last time our SP was seen at these levels was way, way back in 2009. Given our share capital increase and compounded inflation since 2009 would now make BT shares at this price an absolute bargain. Hence why I've be adding significantly to my holding.

BT's pension deficit is nothing new ... as is being managed accordingly, as it has been for decades, so no worries there afaic. What is new is our SP dropping to sub 100p recently. Four years ago it was ~400p

SP for some reason, has never recovered, or even attempted to recover the lost ground on the covid fall way back in March. We fell from 200p to ~100p where are are sat today ! Even though our last results beat market expectations.
