@Oligarch - i understand the logistics of the complaints process, iv'e been through and fought an industrial tribunal and its worth noting anyone can do it, regardless of the size os company, union etc the employment rules are EXACTLY the same. So i would say the union has its use with your managers, but not the shop floor, more reason for working staff to boycott and leave your managers with their weekly subscription? Same rules apply just your managers get it in the neck and have to pay for it? We both know that will never happen because Dave wont get his big fat brown envelope, my advice is lead the way dont follow the herd, its always worked for me, self empowerment and all that...

@oligarch - I prefer to fight my own battles, i guess that just depends on What type of person you are..... and you are right btw I don't know nothing about the business, thank goodness for this bulletin board so shareholders can keep an eye on those not pulling their weight, quite easy to weed out a slacker........... lol

thanks Broch, that sick pay deal seems totally sensible to me, stops the habitual 'sick note' staff, in all my years of working i never took sick leave and nothing more frustrating than other staff doing it and dumping the work on to your desk.

I think what ever comes of this both employers and employee's need to be more flexible, days are gone of rigid 40 hr weeks.

I would be interested to know what this has cost the employee's, simply by the cost of CWU membership and how much was lost to strikes, have any of you gained or is it a material loss across the board?

I can say from experience you dont need a union to walk out of a job to make a statement or fight your cause, ACAS and little behind the scenes investigating and coming together of staff even at just a local office can get you heard, seems to me its just the staff paying Dave to stay in highly paid job. With the age of social media why dont you all come together in a fb group and save your monthly sub.... just a thought im sure youve all had..

@JB - yes i just replied on another thread and pretty much said the same thing, sorry only just read your comment, one thing this bulletin board is usually full of is rumours, not been any of that since the announcement.

@oligarch - something was said at news conference a few weeks back, was an off the cuff comment with Sunak, then a few weeks later all the unions are pulling back, i dont see the .gov letting said unions bankrupt the country, something has happened behind closed doors and im guessing we wont hear anything until its decided now either way.

im saying 'Deal' but lets see what news comes out over the weekend....

@chilting - this has further to fall imo, a test of double bottom looks on the cards i wasnt thinking to taking a trade at this point, would like to see some confirmation first, news or TA on the daily\4 hour.

@Boyobach - thanks had a look at that just a while back, coincidently the gap down opened just outside the original gap fill, so there is now a double gap fill in that area 472 > 483, only a small gap but something to aim for once the dust settles.

@JAB - i looked on website a couple of days ago, are we getting a webcast on 16TH? i couldnt see it in shareholders centre\media etc...?

@teslo - yes some good value stocks out there today, ive held barcs over year and sold the lot about 2 weeks ago after ex divi, LLOY if it drops is probably worth a punt as its goes ex divi 13th April.

Regarding a deal here, im sure Dave wants to come out of this as the hero, if he comes out as villian there maybe be a reduction in members next year, i also think after the .gov threatened to ban the unions they have all been given their last warnings, no coincidence that nearly all unions are going back into work within the last week.

BTW thanks for that tip regarding demarker a while back, i use it a lot now and is one the most reliable indicators i use, i dont use in tradingview though only CMC Markets so its slightly different as its an osciallator but matched with momentum in the same window is a great signal to buy sell.

ive noticed today on one my box shifting platforms EVRI Yodel and DPD have dropped their prices for small parcels with fully trackable service, its a big drop to for example EVRI have gone from £2.75 to £1.92 on small parcel to 2KG, for any box shifters that is a big drop and shows to me that they have probably lost a lot of busines to RM on small parcels.

How will RM respond? Cant see small parcel prices dropping any further...

@JAB - glad to see your still here and holding ole boy, im with you on the divi resumption, we might even get some info on 16th. IR have hinted that we may be given a little update on how the GDR\redom is going and some option we may have going forwards.

@Teslo - i see this sell off as a healthy reset, from what im reading a lot of scare mongering over the pond, market was crying for a sell off, hopefully we have the wind behind us when the news does come, IDS is defensive at this level be nice to see a finish above 230.

Thanks simx, thats probably the best result for all going forwards, slowly reducing is the safeest way but it must show slowing of some sort, the problem is over the pond the markets are hot with fresh money and looking for new highs Mr Powell no likey

@Oligarch - its the money flow, with low unemployment in the US it means the green back is strong, so money is awash everywhere and people have not stopped spending.

Once people stop spending (to get down inflation) businesses will start to cut back, unemployment is a sure sign that the Feds tightening is working.

appears the wider market is waiting to see what Mr Powell says later today, and how the unemployment data comes in. In normal scenario you would hope it to be reducing but in reality we need it to go up
