@Drek - if its always been poor then the damage will be negligible, in fact it could also be a bonus as they you say lots of parcels with poor return free's up their man hours to concentrate on the more profitable side of the business.
Im am sure someone somewhere has weighed up the pro's and con's of this, im also sure that you cannot continually hijack another company (PO) to a monopolistic business agreement with out some legal backlash from the 3rd party couriers.
There is no link between PO and RM now so PO are free to do as they please, while they may have been able to get an agreement when partying company i cannot see legally how you can continue to force this arrangement when you have no say and no bargaining chips.
just my opinion for what its worth and i have no inside knowledge but usually the obvious answers are the correct the ones...
@Broch - what conspiracy? its fact that majority of booked parcels are coming from marketplaces online, all my parcels are booked, labels printed and just taken to PO, i stand in queues with others who are doing the same, they need to be competitive in online market places, Doris and Alfie are standing in the queue to send their xmas presents are long time customers of RM so no need to take the risk with Evri or DPD.
IF there is any hit on business it will be made up for by the expansion into new area's like lockers and alt collection points. There also would likely be some sort of legal challenge with PO and 3rd party couriers which is why they have probably just let it go, you cant have it both ways selling your assets and then locking them into business with you.
Also it just shows how corrupt the UK market place is, not a coincidence that the SP dropped 20p days ago, then this PO news is released, someone was privy to this info well in advance it appears!
On a positive note, i dont see it as much of a threat, the money is with these online platforms now, not standing in queues at the PO to book a one off parcel. Next thing is to expect your local petrol station to be a an Rm parcel hub, you heard it hear first ;-)
@Boyo - this is one of those shares and makes my previous points perfectly, the problem is waiting for confirmation is you have missed the meat of the move and will highly like get spiked out. Ive previously done it myself.
The volatility and volume makes this a casino share, there are not many shares on the FTSE like this, lots in the US, hence why the SP never makes any real sense based on results. Pretty much everything you need to know about this share without inside knowledge can be seen on the chart.
On another note anyone notice how the media has totally shut down all protest in other countries regarding Gaza?, old hairy legs is sending his lacky Blinkin today, he got shown up last time and cancelled by the Arab league, IMO this war should be over in no time and the broader sentiment will go positive again till next years elections. Possible unknowns in between.
Boyo - you are missing the point as well, he asked should he buy now is it rock bottom? my answer was aimed at that, no need for you twist the comment into something else.
As you like your chart lines take a look at this, 'W' reversal, should bounce from here? lets see...
Retirement - your missing the point, just like you and many others they are sitting and waiting to see a bottom price, any sign of the issues being resolved will see money flood back into the market, as you did today. bottom price may have already past now, thats the gamble you take when your bottom hunting.
@chilting - of course its sentiment, and the current biggest driver of that and people not hitting the buy button is the potential of WW3, nothing else bigger than this in the news at present, not to mention the fiddling these brokers do with their forecast's\ratings.
No sign hey? i would say an immediate cessation of the war will see this head north on a price correction, as others have said here its tied to the NASDAQ in some weird way, and that should also make a swift head north.
Always think outside the box, just as public enemy said 'dont believe the hype'
As they say follow the money, all short positions for OCDO for October if anyone is interested.

@Red - you should be awarded with the honorary medal of the most loyal share holder, knowledgable and thick skinned riding out the rough periods selling at the top and buying at the bottom, you've got those short sellers running for their money...
More SP risers from here, the little autumnal sell off appears over, 2 weeks till news, shall we have a little sweep stake and make a call on the price on the day of news pre open?
Just off to rub my crystal balls, will be back with my number and bit later x
An order just moved the price 5p in one move, looks like a possible big short closing or a big buy. These dips could just be to allow their mates to get out of short positions at a profit, likely before a santa's rally.
