Shell is such a beast that even a potential multi billion fine from the court case and winning it didnt make any difference to it....

I guess Im bias otherwise I wouldn't be in Shell but they literally have tenticles everywhere and could expand in many many fields.

So with 20$ Billion each year to invest in their chosen area...They certainly have some Fire power....

BP had a better day than us, no idea why but Im sure our time to shine is near.

Many people are talking about a super cycle......And you know what they could be right.....

3 major reasons for this....

First is the fact that I think oil could actually go over the 100 millions barrels per day useage for a year or to as the whole worlds "kicks off"

Secondly you have the lack of investment not just last year but the last 5 years and the fact that some of the bigger fields are coming to their end. Oil is not cheap to produce....

Then the big one...The greenies/ Renewers.....Oil majors are selling off their fields in droves and financing oil fields will become harder and harder. Big banks and busIness will want to be seen to invest in the new world and not fosil fuel...

So thats my thought ?

Yes I got out at £1.33 and bought into BP.

Did ok there bout at £1.29, £1.17 and more at £1.03.......

Very unlike me to get things right.........

Ploughed that into BP at £3.20 so we shall see where we go......

Hopefully this will be the year of the Super Majors.....

The slowing and more boring the shares are generally the safer and better returns long term.

However thats where the problem lies. We are hot wired to get quick and hence we gamble.

Yes its educated, historical, fact based but as none of us can see into the future we gamble.......

There is only 1 reason why I can see BP falling a lot and that is if we havent defeated Covid and as of yet nothing is certain.

When it is and Im hoping that this is pretty soon now there are many many reasons for BP to start quite a charge.

Oil at nearly 70$
More profit per barrel due to cost cutting.
Sleepie Joes stimulas package.
Massive massive world wide bounce especially flights in coming months.
Right palace right time....Green/Renewable energies and we have the fire power for some cheap acquisitions.
Roseneft making huge profits and rising all the time.
Opec + now being sensible and disciplined.
Shale concentrating on cash flow, debt and dividends.....

Oil price to low and they can pay their way in many countries.

Oil price to high and Shale will come charging back and balls things up....

Keep it at 70$.....The sweet spot....

So the plan is to pay down debt to 35$ Billion and then start share buy backs.

I would imagine this first quarter has been fantastic for us as they would have reduced cost per barrel from 2019 when we were "normal" and with 35$ break even (I think thats right) we should have a bumper quarter.

Be interesting to hear how the green/renewable new strategy is going as well...

I assume their strategy will be to gobble up smaller companies in proven technologies/locations ???

Its interesting that with oil at nearly 70$ a barrel there isn't a massive increase in rigs being used. Its also interesting that there are still 390 less rigs being used this year than this time last year.......

Perhaps the Yanks have learnt their lesson....
