On an indoor day with all quiet on the BP front I just wondered if anybody felt like sharing their greatest disasters. Ive had plenty but GKP was my greatest ever....Simple story Greed as always...

Bought in at 80p during Tod Kozels time. News just got better and better and better and share price rocketed to £4.20. I had a life changing amount in it and the boards and media were full of Exxon buying them out at £25...WOW...

Well the rest is history and I think I finally escaped at 50p....

Lesson learnt:

Dont listen to the hype.
Always take a profit along the way

and the biggest one by far......

I really class post.

All of it get it wrong from time to time and a think I hold the record.

In BP, Shell heave and a decent amount in Harbour plus a few funds.

I think in the global circumstances oil and Gas should do well for the next year but with Russia, Iran, Covid, USA Shale , the weather, tea bags and everything else.....We could end up anywhere....

The point I made was that if I was on the board I would by loads of assets from Shell and BP (As long as the numbers as stack up)

The board was very clear they are in the market for new assets, They have previously bought from both companies, Both companies have multiples assets for sale and we have a load of Tax credits to use up......

All stack up for me.....

As long as the price is right I wouyld buy as many of BPs and Shells assets as I could afford.

They have been successfully produced and ofcourse it's known what left plus what ever we can produce on top.

The Icing on the cake.......4 Billions pounds worth of Tax credits.....

Is that right approx £50 million today ??

How does this fit in with our usual spend....

I don't get why people use phrases such as "hands me downs and rusty assets"

If the price is right and the numbers stack up surely thats a good buy.

Nobody can say the previous buys from BP and Shell were anything other than good investments...
