Eccles - you are clearly taking the P155. I don't care how you acquired your shares - with over 4000 posts you are clearly doing some reading.
oh no! Gave myself away as a scammer by use of bad English and spelling mistakes :)
FFS
Eccles - would you like me to manage you portfolio for you?
Just post your account details & password here and leave the rest to me.
Grezzz - That's just as I'd have expected ( last night at zero aside)
No - Bad P
The Value of my GSK shares fell by a similar value to the price of HLN (well, a little more actually), so I didn't get anything for nothing, nor would I expect it. The profit has come from the increase in the GSK price since i purchased them in March 21.
As regards Dividends - 80P last year. This year assuming 60p X (estimate 81%) on gsk= 48.6p plus (from the top of my head) 2.3B Profit X 30% /9billiion shares (sorry - didn't look any of those numbers up) = 7.6p = 56P total.
HL are showing exactly as I'd hope in Mrs Nellys account. My full allocation of HLN @ ~£3.20 & the same number of GSK @ ~£17.80.
They've even gone so far as to apportion my cost price between the 2 on a 81:19 split. No complaints.
Made a much better job of this than they did Aviva a couple of months ago.
Adam,Last.
Have you any appreciation of what GSK has gone through, or are you just commenting on the £3 fall?
Is now a good time to buy? - we will know in the fullness of time. I'd intended to sell before last week, but just never got round to it. Falling knife?? ******. Stay off the board.
I feel reassured the the price fall so far is a little over £3.
Today we can sell GSK, but still get our Haleon shares?
Not sure why the results of such a tiny motor insurer should impact the results of a diversified company like Aviva. Get it to some extent with DLG & ADM.
Guess it's just the crazy world we live in.
We'll see this as a buying opportunity..
Interesting. Aviva just happens to be my second largest holding, and one that I've treat in the same way as LGEN. (actually traded Aviva more). Not sure what you mean by "what happened to Aviva in June 21" (was that when Cevian bought in? - I really can't remember).
Either way I see the two companies as totally different beasts. Aviva contracting to focus on core markets, LGEN expanding into new areas of business. And for that reason I'd expect LGEN to invest any surplus funds into it's business (which it can do easily into housing or renewables) rather than return it to us (for Mrs. Nelly to spend on cruises :))
But always happy to listen to another opinion.
This is by far my largest holding(if I said how big - both by %age and absolute value I'd be disbelieved & mocked). I've traded them 30+ times in the last 4 years (along with Mrs. Nelly) which has more than doubled my holding, despite not re-investing dividends (I need that for the CGT).
I'd be surprised if the 22/23 dividend was anything other than +5%, but that doesn't make it 20p/ share - I've got 19.37p penciled in.
However, what intrigues me is the suggestion of buy backs & a special. Is that speculation, or is it based on any knowledge? Personally, I'm happy with things just the way they are, and the SP can bump along at these levels forever more for me. I'm happy to keep buying on dips. Any change in the dividend policy could rock the boat & wreck my nice little earner.
You sold?
I'm hovering as well. This has been my best buy & hold over the last 15months. (along with BATS).
I bought for income & growth, £5 growth & £1 divi in that time. Not sure if I want to continue to hold after the split. Reduced dividend a problem for me.
If I do ditch them it will be to go all in on MNG.
Yes. It was cut.
(really)
Happy to see things getting stirred up.
Will Jope the Dope still be in a job this time next year? Nope :)
(oh - and can the spineless oaf Pitkelthy be dumped as No. 1 priority)
May this be just the start of the good news. Thinking demerge of foodstuffs? Then a takeover? Oh the possibilities are endless. Still not recouped my losses though, but much more optimistic about the future.
If I'd bought back in at £3.90 I'd want to tell everyone about it too. Maybe that's why there are so many posts from people who did?
Me - I missed it, but have still made an embarrassingly good return on my Aviva trades, growth & dividends over the last 15 months.
Beggars belief that there is such a knee-jerk reaction from those that should know better.
Personally, I doubled my holding today firstly at 1755p then ~1720p. for an average of 1747p with duty and costs.
Then sold half of todays acquisitions @ 1786. Sorry to gloat (well not really)
Hoping for good numbers tomorrow to complete the job.
As usual, news disproportionately affects the SP.
Glad to have topped up 50%.
LMFAO
TBH, Eurofox, I didn't connect your post withdrawing the comment about the drop to 330 & the arbitrage one. I thougth you were talking about 2 events. If there was such a drop i'd be all in - and selling body parts to up my holding.
You are one of the posters who generally posts some useful stuff. My comments about idiot posters & your lack of support on the arbitrage were not connected. Hopefully if you had a scheme you'd share it. Doubt most of the posters would be able to comprehend though.
Best wishes.
There should be an idiot test to prevent halfwits posting messages.
Why can some people not grasp the simple arithmetic that is going on here??
The interest lies within the Q1 trading statement. Will AV. still be generating the EPS & FCF to sustain & build the dividends indicated. If you think it can then you buy.
Please can we stop covering the same **** again and again.
Oh - and thanks for the help with the arbitrage eurofox. Not. Suspect you are full of **** too.
