PCR testing is to become an important revenue stream for airports, unfortunately all airports are looking to take their cut. Traditionally smaller regional airports would make most of their money from car parking and retail (duty free), passenger numbers shall be a fraction of what they once were. My thinking is that with airport PCR tests typically priced at £90-110, the airports shall be taking a 30% cut, therefore a potentially massive and very important stream of revenue. Airports are on their knees write now, including Heathrow and Gatwick. Heathrow loosing more than £1billion a year. None of these companies shall be prepared to subsidise and offer testing at a loss.
