Ive said before that its a good thing to be speading these major holdings around more institutions and I stand by that. My issue is that the process may take so long, it will see the oil price bonanza subside in the meantime

It wont lie...it disappoints/worries me a lot that our three largest holders all thought it a good idea to start selling chunks quite abit below £3

Okay they will each have reasons, perhaps one of them being that the oil price jump may prove transitory

(Oh and just for the record. Im not suddenly negative on HBR, but one placing after another will have really slammed on the brakes)

Why do I get the feeling that when this current crisis is over, the only ones to have truly benefitted will be the likes of BASF and EIG. The rest of us will be feeding off scraps hoping for the next set of numbers to give the share price a boost (at which point another secondary placing gallops over the horizon)

Certainly looks like someone taking the loss for tax and moving on. They would have to wait 30 days now to rebuy if they wanted to, in order to avoid the matching rule. Bed/ISA or Bed/SIPP gets round that, but we would have seen the other side of the transaction as well today.

I think its a combination of extreme "round-numberitis" and the fact that high oil prices are creating a large market downforce which is currently neutering gains.

Once we have more up to date numbers available it will hopefully provide the impetus to break £3 once and for all

(Looking back, how many of us would have predicted that HBR would still be at this level despite an oil price surge?)

I guess a lot will depend on whether the IRGC have real involvement in top levels of Iranian government, or whether they are just a bunch of murderous enforcers

In a genuine market selloff, logic sometimes get thrown out the window. It oftern transpires that winners (oilers etc) get sold to cover losses everywhere else.

It will eventually sort itself out once people realises just how much cash HBR is throwing off at these prices

Surprisingly muted oil price reaction so far, but I guess traders are waiting for Trump's deadline to expire and see what transpires

I dont think the BASF RNS was caused by a one off sale of 9m shares, but rather the drop below 41% from the cumulative selling they have been carrying out since the last buy back

I think Fridays tizz was caused by something else, unless the market is really uneasy about any BASF selling (and 9m shares would surely not be enough?)

I fully appreciate that ORCA isnt a producer, so cant directly benefit from soaring prices, but its portfolio will increase in value and there is much talk of power shortages etc. For these reasons, Im a little surprised that we havent joined in the oil sector exhuberance, not even slightly

I would almost be pleased to see another secondary placing announced to account for this drop. Im not mad keen on mysteries lol

I very much doubt the 9m shares relating to that RNS were part of some dastardly schem Moggs. More likely to be the cumulative effect of a few weeks selling

Now if theres a larger trade in the works that the city knows about and we dont.....well then yes, I would agree
