Sareum isnt a SETS stock hence all trades are O in nature. Been a while since I paid for L2 but I would imagine it would only show a list of MM quotes rather than an actual order book

I was just about to question for whose benefit are the MMs sitting so tightly on the share price. Feels like it take an earthquake to move us half a penny, yet the actual bid price of 16p is being hidden once again.

Elcap's comment along with Bailiff's in the recent past, can only point to someone accumulating

NSS I recently made the same point that a buyer would only have to persuade BASF, LLOG and EIG to sell and they would be perilously close to 50%.

It was rightly queried that if that were the case why would they have done the recent placings? Having given it some thought I have concluded that in addtion to receiving a decent wedge of cash, they could also be signalling to potential sellers that they are willing sellers (at the right price ofc)

Probably clutching at straws a little, but I agree that below £4 we are very vulnerable to a major with deepish pockets

Well its a close at around 283p in old money (pre-xd) and I think can live with that given the events of this week. Not too shabby really given Brent had over $10 chopped off, and the recent large placings having soured the mood somewhat.

Hopefully the trading update will wake the market up to the performance of this company regardless of the decisions taken by BASF and EIG

Often thats the case, but today we are effectively up 8.8p on the day reflecting the xd adjustment and the fact has receovered to $96.50 area (according to IG)

Dare I suggest that if there were to be a "stitch-up' bid backed by the large holders, around about now might be a very opporune time? The failure to break and hold above £3 even with $100+ oil might persuade enough holder to accept say £3.50... hell they can probably get close to 50% with just the largest three saying yes

(and no I think it would be a dreadful result having held a long term, but recent events have made me wonder)

Erm thats wrong mate. If you hold at close on the day before ex-div date you will get the dividend on 20.05 regardless of whether you sell in the intervening period.

Think about it....the share price is adjusted on the xd day to reflect the fact you get the divi entitlement and subsequent buyers dont

If there is to be a big windfall from elevated prices, I would sooner a big chunk of debt was paid down before the opportunity disappears. Dividends are all well and good but ultimately its money leaving the business. Pay a reasonable divi by all means, but any windfall should not be directed in that direction imho

Well oil has taken a mini-bath on the latest Trump utterances, but its still around $100 (depending on what prices source yu look at).

Its pretty demoralising that the market looks at HBR, with all thats going on, and decides yep its not worth £3+. Its going to take the first quarter update to hopefuly shine a positive light on us, but those damn placings (and more to come in the future) have really stifled the upward momentum.

I dont disagree re Slim, and he may indeed have taken a chunk, I just think insti interest will have been spread around thats all.

Whatever the facts, I think that the concentration of large holders in BASF being diluted is a good thing imho
