Given the size of that matched pair of transactions (8.6m shares) it is more likely that the trade is from yesterday or even Friday. I dont know what the thresholds are for delayed reporting, but all i know is they are the biggest i can remember.

The 150k trade at 15:39 marked as a sell, would make more sense as a buy that caused the tick up

13.3p would have been very generous as a sell, and seeing as the trade immediately before it was a buy at that price....lets say its another 'accidentally' misreported trade

I would like to see us back to the 225-230 area which was where it was sat just before its last precipitous fall in to the 180s

I think the dividend yield could help get us back to that level, unless of course Trump keeps throwing curve balls at the worlds markets.

i would be amazed if T trades operated on trades of that size. In the past, the appearance of such paired trades has coincided with players like Carlos Slim increasing his stake, though currently, I do think its likely to be shorters acquiring the shares they need to close.

Yours is an interesting theory, but in reality, how many takeovers of large companies have been pitched at a 100% premium? (180 > 360)

In reality though BASF would probably accept less as the 360p was pretty theoretical and they might well welcome being able to ditch all their shares without having to find buyers themselves (prolinged drip-feeding to market or a secondasry placing etc)
