These buys seem to concur with the timing of the announcement, which is indicated on shareprice as 18.20. Let's hope this bodes well for tomorrow, and for coming weeks.

Some activity at last: LONDON, Oct 8 (Reuters) - UK-listed Islamic bank European Islamic Investment Bank (EIIB) has signed a deal with Standard Chartered Bank to hedge foreign exchange risk. Standard Chartered said in a statement on Thursday originally issued in Singapore that the Sharia-compliant structured foreign exchange hedging deal was its first in Europe. No one at Standard Chartered or the EIIB was available for further comment. Standard Chartered said it had developed new documentation, which allows foreign exchange hedging with an option component, backed by an exchange of commodities for each leg of the transaction. This allows the EIIB to broaden its investment horizon in a sharia compliant way. Islamic forex hedging transactions must involve tangible assets. Yes indeedy! I think patience is a virtue when it comes to investment in any stock. You've got to have it, otherwise it's not really the game for you. It'd drive you totally barking! My own investment here is considerably less than it once was (I sold a deal of my holding on the last rise to play elsewhere, with some success, I'm pleased to say). If this went totally tots-up tomorrow, I wouldn't suffer that badly (which I DON'T believe is going to happen, incidentally!). Having said that, I take no pleasure in losing money. But the old saying is true - never invest in anything unless you are prepared to lose every brass farthing! GKN - well! What a day! I can only congratulate those in there, and add this to my 'If only I'd.....! list, along with EFD earlier this year! Which reminds me, I shall shortly be publishing the first 12 volumes of my masterwork - 'If only I'd ...I'd be a millionaire today!'. Leather bound editions will be available on subscriptions.

Is this a good thing?

Would I be right in thinking that it is Evolution Securities that is taking over EIIB? They certainly seem to be acquiring a lot of stock over the past few days? Anyone any ideas about where this might be going?
