Under the leadership of public prosecutor Socorro Pelaes, the Public Prosecutor's Office for the Defense of Public Assets, Foundations and Consumers of Santana opened proceedings to investigate allegations of alleged dismantling of the assets of the Amapá Railway (EFA), left by Icomi

According to information, the locomotives that are part of the State's heritage were being dismantled while still in good condition, parts were removed and given an unknown destination and the carcasses were returned to the site in an attempt to simulate the integrity of the assets.

The investigation also involves the removal of entire pieces of equipment from the EFA railway maintenance workshop, assets under the responsibility of a company that acts as a trustee. The case gained momentum with the submission of photographic and audiovisual records to the Public Prosecutor's Office, in addition to a public appeal for the Public Prosecutor's Office to intervene and prevent the irreparable loss of this collection.

The first step to make it a reality or not is the public hearing. So, don't be incredulous, participate, attend the hearing, ask questions, give your opinion, be optimistic! I am sure that, if this train is to return, the benefit will be for many, as it can be used not only for tourist trips, but also to transport the produce of our farmers who live along the railroad. Public hearing discusses revitalization of the Santana train for tourist tours

The restructuring of the train and the revitalization of the Santana station will be discussed at a public hearing this Friday (30) at the City Council.

The event is scheduled to start at 9 am and the debate is open to the general public.

In December 2014, the freight train ran for the last time at the Amapá Railway Station. In 2015, passenger transport services were also stopped.

My congratulations to everyone involved in this mission to rescue our history, which is the return of our train to make this beautiful tourism between Santana and Serra do Navio.
