But the usual ploy, get some wealthy people to join your committee, and of course, pay them well for their part-time roles, afterward give them a knighthood or Peerage. And of course, nothing happens, except more taxpayers money wasted and some more chancers with honours, getting into the HoLs to claim their additional expenses. You or I, or most on this board would know what needs to be done to improve matters, employing those who are already part of the problem, will solve nothing.

To be fair to Andrew Baily the incumbent head of the Bank of England, he just repeats what the head of the FED says, that is all his limited fiscal ability allows him, he does have a degree in History! He also has a history of falling asleep in meetings he gets bored easily.

I can safely say in all my 69yrs I have never met a socialist, met plenty who say they are/were including my own family members, mostly dead now.
No Labour MP wants to work for the average national salary or declines from claiming for a packet of biscuits on their expenses sheet or refuses the pay rises that they all vote through.
No Union leader will work for the average salary of their members, refuse the low-cost union mortgage schemes or chauffeured cars and gold-plated pensions.

I see that the German female mouthpiece of the EU is threatening Itay with reprisals for possibly voting in a government that the EU hierarchy does not agree with.
Italy is well aware of German Threats and reprisals it saw enough of it in 1944., as so many European countries did.
One would have thought the Germans would have kept low for at least another couple of hundred years, before making threats. But they do now run the EU, even countries within the EU who are not reliant on Russian gas such as Spain have had to join their rationing scheme, to save the German face.

Yes, heading back to 2008, remind us of who was in power in 2008 and which European club with were members of. Remoaners do have either a very short memory, remember the chancellor who banished boom and bust, or do you just like to bring a smile to our faces, during these turbulent times? How is the formation of the EU army coming along during these turbulent times? what part did the EU/Germany play in bringing us to this real energy emergency, unlike their dreamt-up climate emergency?

Even as WW2 was being fought and the Americans were charging us for every bit of equipment they sent us, Churchill was giving them our technology for free. In 1940 America was years behind the UK in technology, when American scientists were sent here to work with our people they were amazed at how far we were in front of them. After the war, we either gave them our technology or stopped developing it at their behest. During the 1960s we even encouraged our best brains to move to America the Americans snapped them up by the plane full. Then we just gave up on our industry, allowed the Russians to pay money to our union leaders to ferment industrial unrest, and the politicians did nothing. Why even the Labour MP and Leader Michael Foot and his wife were on the Russian payroll? Edward Heath paid around 30 visits to China and was personal friends with Mao and we now know what that means. Harold Wilson was for many years considered to be a Russian spy. No 10 was bugged by the secret service through both Wilsons and Heath's premierships! until 1977.
Blair led us to wars, for his own profit, entered No 10 poor according to his wife, left, and became a multimillionaire within a short time afterward. The only thing we have excelled at is taking in immigrants, who were told were going to make us a wealthy nation! plus throwing hundreds of billions at the EU and the greater world.

Every person on this board knows someone as we once said who is "swinging the lead" on the disability circuit.
We have people with serious disabilities partaking in sports, rowing boats across the ocean, and climbing mountains, but we have others with minor disabilities unable to work or so they say.
Am I alone in noticing the number of people walking quite easily, but carrying a walking stick, which usually never touches the ground? commonly-known a GIRO STICKS IN OUR NECK OF THE WOODS .
