Sour grapes from someone who has not left blighty!
When that dictator as you call him died the outpouring from the Singaporeans was immense and unlike some real dictatorships, the people were not coerced into standing by the road and crying. And he left a real legacy, unlike our past PMs.
It is positioned in a perfect geographical place, right in the centre of a dynamic and expanding trade block, it is so successful it has grown its land mass by reclamation, Ocean Road is now inland in fact.
You are correct on globalisation (something I disagree with) a trade/political ideology created by the few for the few. Championed by so many of our politicians, big business the establishment ie civil service. How many prominent politicians from the recent past and present can you name who were anti-globalists have a go?
No comment was attempted on my description of the eroding trade and wealth of Europe, remembering that the EU is a tariff block, to protect whose trade, Germany or Bulgaria?
Your not being a little ****** in insinuating that I may have Chinese family in Singapore are you?
You are never too old to travel, though I would advise traveling business class with Singapore Airlines Direct flights from London Heathrow or one-stop flight from Manchester.
PS Singapore international airport is a destination itself, you have to see it to believe it.
