The current financial year has started well with overall trading in the first quarter being well ahead of management expectations and the equivalent period last year. Although performance in Australia is currently down on management's expectations this has more than been offset by performance in the UK traffic business which has been strong and includes a number of synergy benefits of the Count on Us acquisition in March 2012. Additionally there has been an increase in market demand driven by infrastructure related data collection work on both the national road and rail networks including work on the government's high profile rail and road investment programmes. The Group is now better positioned to benefit from this increased market activity following the acquisition due to its greater geographic presence and operational resources. The Department for Transport National Road Traffic Census Contract continues to perform well and trading in the period has also benefited from other new business wins including the previously announced Transport Scotland contract.

Trading Update The Board of Sky High plc, the data collection and analysis group, is pleased to be able to provide a trading update in advance of the announcement of the results for year ending 31 March 2011. The results for the year are expected to be announced in the first week of September. The results are later than last year due to work required relating to the acquisition of Count on Us that was announced earlier in the year After the strong performance in the first half performance, the second half of the year was, as expected weaker, as some of the previous operating costs reduction were reversed. As a result, the group operated at a broadly breakeven position for the second half, before exceptional costs of the acquisition of the business and assets of Count on Us. Nevertheless, the overall result for the year will show a significant improvement on last year and will confirm the Group's return to profitability on an annual basis.

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants enhances membership system with Eckoh's secure card payment services. Eckoh plc (AIM: ECK), the UK's leading provider of speech recognition and associated payment solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a three year contract to provide card payment services to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants ('CIMA'). The contract, which was won through the new reseller agreement we announced in May with a global service provider, is due to commence in October 2012. CIMA, the world's largest professional body for Management Accountants, has 195,000 members and students in over 176 countries, all of whom are supported by a contact centre. In order to meet tight deadlines, CIMA needed to engage with a provider who could help it reduce the audit scope within their contact centre for compliance with the Payments Card Industry Data Security Standards ('PCI DSS'). Eckoh's PCI DSS compliant services, EckohPAY and EckohPROTECT prevent cardholder data from entering the contact centre environment. With the implementation of these services, callers will be able to purchase CIMA membership, pay for student registrations, subscriptions, products and services over the phone knowing their details are secure. EckohPAY is a real-time automated card payment service, enabling Members and Students to make payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service securely authenticates the caller and guides them through to making a payment. Alternatively, if a caller wishes to make a payment while speaking with a contact centre agent, the agent can verbally guide Members and Students through the payment process using EckohPROTECT. This screens card information from the agent and prevents it from entering the contact centre environment, whilst card authorisation and settlement for both products is handled in real-time through the Eckoh hosted platform.

Trading update Tristel plc, the manufacturer of infection prevention, contamination control and specialist hygiene products, provides a trading update following the end of its financial year on 30 June 2012. As a result of a strong performance in late June in all of Tristel's business segments, both in the UK and overseas, the Company achieved revenues ahead of the level previously indicated in its update on 15 June. Results to 30 June 2012 will now show adjusted pre-tax profits in excess of £700,000. At its year-end the Company had cash balances of £600,000. Tristel intends to announce its preliminary results for the year to 30 June on 29 October 2012. As reported in the earlier update, the Company changed its business model for the UK veterinary market during the second half of the year. In June, the first of the three major national wholesalers listed the Company's "Anistel" product range. The Company is pleased to report that during July the other two wholesalers have also ordered and been supplied with Anistel products. This is an encouraging milestone for the Company as it seeks to establish Anistel as the dominantbrand in the UK veterinary market. Anistel is the successor brand-name to "Trigene" which has been the market leader for the past decade and which has been manufactured by Tristel since 2009. Alongside these developments, six RSPCA regional branches and the Royal Veterinary College have joined a growing list of veterinary practices that are switching to Anistel.

ENRC, the FTSE 100 miner, is close to a deal to buy out a controversial Israeli tycoon from its operations in Democratic Republic of Congo. The deal, which could be announced within a month, would end a tumultuous episode. ENRC sparked outrage when it bought a copper mine from Dan Gertler, a former diamond trader with close ties to Joseph Kabila, Congo’s president, two years ago. The deal led to a $2bn lawsuit from rival First Quantum, which owned the mines until they were expropriated by the Congolese government. It also sparked an internal battle between the trio of billionaires who control ENRC and the City grandees who sat on the board. Two, Ken Olisa and Sir Richard Sykes, were turfed out last year, The Sunday Times reports.

A ray of sun in an otherwise gloomy day

Reported first half revenue is expected to comfortably exceed revenues for the corresponding period last year. As we have previously announced, we have continued a controlled expansion of staff levels in sales and delivery. These actions, coupled with the full-year effect of additional staff added during 2011, mean that our costs also exceed the previous year. Nevertheless, the reported EBITDA result is expected to show significant improvement compared to the first half of 2011. Details will be provided in our interim financial report, scheduled for release on 23 August 2012. Expectations noted above are subject to completion of the period-end financial close and auditor review processes.

TRADING UPDATE Sopheon plc, the internationalprovider of software and services that improve the financial return from innovation and product development investments, issues the following trading update for the six months to 30 June 2012. In our Annual General Meeting announcement issued on 13 June we indicated that we had a substantial amount of business that we were working to close by the end of June. Much of this has concluded successfully. Accordingly, revenue visibility was over £9.6 million at the mid-year point, compared to £7.5 million at the time of the Annual General Meeting. This is a strong achievement, and compares favorably with £7.8 million visibility a year ago. Looking forward to the second half of the year, our sales pipeline remains strong. However, we would note that as always in our industry, accurate prediction of the timing and value of sales events can be difficult.
