RE: FY25 Revenue expected to be £8.6m up from £6.1m6 Aug 2025 06:54
terry, they were well on their way to achieving that.
they raised in august, having announced great 23/24 results in july. everything looked on track, and rosy. let’s face it, the raise was eaten up by 3 institutions at a very modest discount at the time.
then came trump.
i can’t criticise the bod for being unable to convert business in the period of uncertainty that followed.
i will criticise them for being as quiet as they were during h1 about how poor trading was. they didn’t, for example give us the customary trading update in january and so we only found out when the required half year report was issued at the end of march. that report ****ed me off, as did their slippery performance at the linked imc presentation. and what annoyed me more, at least personally, was that yates then blocked me and i believe teraferma without any justification on linkedin such that the best avenue i had of trying to understand what was going on was denied.
that was not a great look.
so, i think the bod are doing all they can to drive growth, i still believe the foundations are there to do it, and i think the recent run of contract news supports that. but, the bod does need to treat its pi investor base with a little more respect and be honest with us.
i’ve said before here, they are very quick to put out good news, and very late to give the disappointing. many times in the past, for example, they have made announcements of new collaborations/partnerships which sound promising, only to go dumb when they falter. vatic, dcn, senzo, bimelix are just some examples, i am a little concerned ecoflo may suffer the same fate despite positive noises on that front, and salistick just doesn’t appear to have taken off like we’d hoped (it’s now just £6.99 in boots for a 2 pack, after being launched at double that price).
we still have some headwinds, chief among them (in my view) being the continuing public perception that they aren’t that accurate. that’s why animal, plant, and environmental testing are good mkts. but the science has moved on leaps and bounds and we are at the forefront of that innovation. upfront continues to be a potential jewel in the crown.
