I see Trump is renaming the DoD the Dept of War following the military parade in China.

Tensions are building. Cyber is the new war arena.

You’d think War ministries would be chaffing at the bit for Ranger.

On the one hand we have XI, joined by Putin and Un, showing off a massive display of latest military hardware.

And I’m sure many of us received the text yesterday about their being another test of our national alert system next week.

It’s concerning, but helps explain the massive defence push at the moment.

The U.K. govt has signalled a clear intent to develop Sovereign AI capability. Our version of Palantir if you will.

We’re of course nowhere near becoming that yet, but all the ingredients are there.

Collective is a bit like Lego - it’s modular. You tailor one module to specific mission critical workflows, then the MOD decides it wants another with the two being able to fit nicely with each other, and then another, and so on. Over time you’ve built a defence platform but critically also made the MOD dependent on your Lego bricks.

Making itself indispensable is, at least I think, what made Palantir into what it is today.

Getting the MOD to want your first module is the hard bit, but then we’ve already got two on the go.

And at War time pace, and with the ability to build out many modules at the same time, Defence Technologies could, in relatively short order, find itself having built a nice Lego platform upon which U.K. defence depends on.

We are, as I say, some way off that yet. But we are off to a cracking start.

It was a delayed print from yesterday. I think it was a sell, and I think it likely the large legacy holders from the GILD days have taken an opportunity to exit.

“Coherent AI adoption” - in the context of defence, that smacks of making sure that the adoption of AI across defence is systematic, aligned, and sustainable rather than fragmented or ad hoc. In other words, AI that brings all of the MOD functions together, working in harmony.

Wouldn’t it be something if we were tasked with that!!

US govt department fiscal year ends 30/9

I am sure Ranger will have been getting pitched all over the place since it launched, and even before then, and it could very well be the case that departments either wanted to, or were required to, wait for Platform 1 marketplace inclusion before they could "push the button" and contract for it.

We now have approval. The end of the cycle means "spend it or lose it". So we could possibly see a flurry of take up before 30/9

We know Riverfort were selling down and may be out.

The other two biggest shareholders were really involved when we were GILD and had a much different strategy. It would not surprise me in the least if these have taken advantage and exited, which would be a good thing I think.

So I will be looking out for some TR1's.

ALRT are like the front end R&D here. We help fund build having capital market access, and open doors through strong BOD relationships and networks. Whitespace provide the sovereign AI tech and scale deliverability (now with a hyperscaler). I think;

- Once we've delivered a project to the MOD, our front end costs are repaid and we get a share in ongoing revenue stream.

- That is for each and every project.

- We retain the IP and can licence it out to the govt, primes or allied countries. The IP grows and becomes a valuable asset over time.

- For large programmes, we can create SPVs to commercialise specific solutions (e.g., AI for maritime surveillance, or AI logistics optimisation). These SPVs could raise their own capital, bring in strategic investors (allied governments, primes, sovereign funds), scale beyond UK MOD use cases.

And this is all in an environment of a significant global defence spending push, heightened defence focus, and where delivery is being done at a wartime pace.

In my view, this really is just the start here

And another key message that AM in particular is stressing is that we, and the govt, are looking for deleriables at wartime pace. This is not going to get mired in bidding or procurement delays. We have 2 projects now, but the whole point of Collective is that it’s modular and can build many things at once. 2 is just the start

Gonna stick my neck out and say this will have bagged by close.

And it will still be cheap.

I think it’s more “Remember, the real news is next week”.

Just an observation, but best volume day here, before today, was 230m traded.

We’re already at 213m and it’s only 11.20.

Today was just the appetiser I think. Next week could easily be the real deal

They continue to build momentum to the DSEI announcement with company broadcasts, daily tweets, regular RNS.

They wouldn’t do that for anything mediocre.

Any seller overhang we have left should get eaten through very quickly today I think!

Think the U.K. equivalent of Palantir….getting to be less of a pipe dream every day!
