For some time now the FDA have been holding regular round table events to discuss and answer questions about their guidance on COVID diagnostic tests, which make interesting reading for those who have time. The latest one was from 16/9, and of particular note was the confirmation on page 7 that the FDA has not received a single EUA application for an at home test, despite having had their template guidance for them out for some time.

So, although we are hearing more and more about “competitor” tests, none of them it seems are any further forward than us and indeed I would think most are lagging some way behind.

I liked the “now this A 30 min test” - makes it sound like they’re only trialling one? Given we’re in CONDOR is it unreasonable to think we’re it. The 30 mins might well refer to the whole time needed to take the test, ie spit, swish, drop, wait, rather than just the “wait”. And if it is us then presumably BBI have completed the scale up and produced a pilot batch?

Their investors are sure Ab will be manufacturing for SONA too which, if true, would seem odd to me given their existing UK-RTC and AVCT commitments

Notice the second item down, which is Abingdon Health looking for components to make LFT’s, albeit for antibody tests :(. Unlike the other entries listed it has no open or close date, but given where it’s positioned you would think it’s late August early Sept. might be nothing but I’d thought it’s worth posting on a slow day!

Yes, but unless I’m reading it incorrectly that cost is just for fulfilment services like order processing, packing, delivery etc - it does not cover the cost of the test itself.

Just for info, the SONA bb’a are also all over this news, with their investors hoping to get a piece of the pie. There’s also a lot of talk that Abingdon are also producing their test, which I was unaware of. Is is true does anyone know?
