Looks like the FDA have removed the Abingdon antibody test (that ODX are involved in) from the authorised list of tests.

It all depends on what the test is designed to do, ie what CT value you’re targeting. The weird thing for me was that LFDx sensitivity didn’t godown in a straight line as CT Values went up

I just don’t get why the manufacturer of only 4 tests to have successfully passed stage 3b doesn’t want to be named. Market sensitivities maybe, in which case it would need to be a listed co. Or maybe because they were still optimising at the time of assessment? Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks Bella - I checked it out. CW spent some time talking about what the significant considerations are when optimising a test for screening, and most notably the impact that prevalence of the disease within the tested population has on the PPV and NPV.

That was really interesting for me because it almost mirrored what AS explained months ago in https://avacta.com/how-diagnostic-test-performance-is-measured/

I use ADVFN for L2 and this morning its showing that a new MM has entered the AVCT market - they are abbreviated to MARX. Anyone know who this is or why that might be?

This test has the potential to be used for frequent mass testing of the population to promptly identify infectious individuals [85].”

Seems a little behind the curve to me, but at least we get a mention!
