The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Worth a watch for any newcomers. They did a couple of interviews with James Barden in Q4 last year and they’re well worth a watch. Their graphics look a bit naff but they ask the right questions. Barden comes across really well IMHO. Clearly knows the business and on top of where the company is at. No bull or pumping. Key takeaways for me were that he did try to play down the need for funding to meet what will be expensive FDA trials, but said they’ll go to the market after costs are confirmed. So this is definitely something to be mindful of. He was tight lipped on commercialisation as you’d expect but in his avoiding the subject seemed to me to be some substance to assumptions that commercial arrangements are progressing nicely. The more I see, the more I like here. The FDA trials are obviously huge as it allows commercialisation to be directed towards pharma rather than cosmetics, but irrespective of trial outcome I’d say commercialisation and rollout will come. Starting to hope more for pullbacks than rises.
0.3p dividend. That’s what Barclays are paying at 1p per share
All those biggies are the bid though . All buys today
Is the trades tab here reliable? Looks like some chunky buys again today
Anybody keeping an eye on the transactions today so far this week? Any stand-out trades appearing?
I think the hope would be, then, that any sort of hints of approval will be enough to bring in the speculators. If they did juts ask a few questions, as you say, then I suspect that would be enough to spark a bit of a rally. Buy the rumour, sell the news, and all that...
That’s just being paranoid and not really understanding how things work, to be frank.
Looks like we’ll hit 22p before cop. Awesome week. Must be something happening. Must be.
Mysterious trades^
I bought in 4 days ago precisely because it seems decent odds on huge potential. Not many opportunities about where they’re at this stage, this price and with this upside potential. However when I see those mysterious garages this week and the upward process movement I cant help thinking that I’ve just got lucky. I don’t know anything, but it looks to me like someone does. 1.2m shares in 2 trades is big money - certainly wasn’t me!
Er... yes. Look at the price. Back to school
Yes, the price action. Lol. Back to school
Pretty sure Goldsmith needs to go back to the drawing board here. Clearly not sells
Historically is this spread always 1p? Or has this widened lately.
Doesn’t level 2 guess whether a trade is a buy it a sell based on the price? I have to be honest I don’t really know what I’m looking at there so don’t pay much attention to it. Plus weren’t these trades after hours?
I’m already in. I have. I idea what these two trades were, but they came after I bought. As you say, hadn’t hurt the share price so far. One way or another it wouldn’t surprise me to hear something while markets are closed this weekend
Yep, capital raising is definitely on the cards sooner or later, which is why I said I made a small investment just to take a positions bad news for long term holders but as king as you accept they’re gonna come for cash soon as a new investor and play your cards accordingly I don’t have a problem with it. There seems to be a a structure and distribution in place, ripe for a buyout if someone gets a whiff of FDA approval. Or worst case they raise the capital needed for the rollout.
Nice to find an active forum for this stock. I posted this on yahoo the other day, but it’s dead. Might be of some use to potential new buyers and I’d love to be corrected on anything and be told things I haven’t found yet. I bought in 3 days ago having watched and researched for about 2 weeks, whilst trying to find some sort of CBD exposure for my ISA, and as the charts seeming to be narrowing towards a breakout o took a gamble. Seem to have timed my first purchase well, fingers crossed.
I just bought a small position here after doing a bit of research. Feels like a punt on a ten bagger long term. For anybody out there interested in sharing views and experiences as holders I’d love to hear it.
I found this stock hunting for CBD plays that I can buy in my ISA. Sat on the sidelines unable to by US/Canada OTC stock we’ve seen a huge surge in cannabis stocks stateside.
So here we have a Surrey based pharma co. focused on CBD products. They’re loss making, diluting but with strong revenue growth. Last rights issue a year at 7p, but shares jumped to 15p in October 2020 on news of their ED gel trials with EU and FDA last October. Most recent broker report targets 55p based on regulatory approval for the ED gel and securing 15% (£300m revenue) of the US/EU flopsy market.
Main product is the ED Gel but FUM has various skin treatment and CBD painkillers in different stages of development; and also sells their own condoms which make you last longer.
We should have company news soon as a meeting with the FDA is due in February, with a steady newsflow thereafter through 2021. Having retreated back to Oct 20 levels again, and now seeming to kick on a little again perhaps in anticipation of news coming. Worth a punt I’d say
CEO earns 250k a year and holds £185k shares. He seems to get battered on forums by long term holders.
