Just placed a short to cover the Yanks panicking over the pond, as they lost the 10 dollar comfort blanket. It looks like we are likely to see 178 /176 before some positive action now. Still happy about my 4 / 5% savings earlier, though would be popping corks if had landed these extra points too. Closed my short around 184 and now just put a defensive one on. Hope I don't have to give much back lol. Can not believe I'm looking at -8.10%. Sincere good luck to all serious Barcs holders, its a difficult time atm.

Reflecting on my 5.06pm post Tuesday. When I dumped 3/4's of my long position. Though I have taken a gamble this morning and believe it or not, never had one problem "First ever time" and re planted all my position I sold Tuesday, which Iam so chuffed with myself. Now the sheep are settling down I will be focussing on the ECB and what Mario Brother is announcing. Must swap over screens and pay attention as my short from Tuesday's close is wearing thin. Having made these decisions is all based on never being able to judge the bottom, technically it looks like a coiled spring. Lets hope we do actually see this turn around now, can not see the big funds not knowing all this data days ago. GLA

Hi there, sorry to hear you are thinking of packing this in, it does look like Barclays is about to turn that corner again. We just had the small offering of a divi a few months back, next one will be around March I believe. All the best on making the right decision, has been a rough few years stuck in here.

Hi there Nighthawk Yes all good thank you, apart from a few 'Bread and Butter' positions I have running today lol. Had a bit of stress using the "Dumb investor" again . . . rejected 3 times and kept stating the (The market is closing in 3 minutes" How infuriating can that site get ! Closed on the last 2 minutes or they would have received some fierce abuse this time. Despite it finally covered. Just about to have a cup of tea, now blood pressure has eased off. S.A is an amazing country . . . some big White Pointers off the coast too. Wonder how Barclays will play out this week ? anyone's guess . . . as it usually gets cut back after results. Not been trading of late as away again, now back, its half term and trying to trade whilst being educated on the subject of Pokemon Go is a dangerous play lol. Afternoon there, just logged on briefly to reply as Friday to Monday Is normally manic for me an only monitoring at a glance lol Over the years I have seen many ways of trading in all angles , basically the same thing. Yes I used to use orders and walk away, which I do still for my Spread account, which is my 'day to day bread and butter'. Though a few years back with a very large CFD open above the �1 I was one of many stiffed by the FT on their Sundays article over the "Duster find with Desires Friday announcement of a hit", which in turn went thru a so called g'stop and covered at around 36 pence ! A morning I will never forget. Having to listen to an engaged tone and watch a blue screen saying their Platform was down. Obviously due to everyone else in he same boat. I had no opportunity than to gamble an trust my instincts and try to play the 'Dead Cat Bounce' from the panic selling. Plus rowing with various telephone Bank accounts for stopping high transfers into my trading account, once the smoke settled. Only managing to claw back about 27k . . . so I will only trade what is in front of me or over the phone with a recorded system. Plus poxy "Dumb investor 2" chucks back orders over 10,000 as I was informed yesterday afternoon at nearly 4pm, after being locked out, code 1100 again. ************ Smart Investor************ don't get me started on that crap again, get the same ole speech each time. Waste of 'Free Minutes" calling them. There is so, so many glitches in their program, I'm sure a 14 year old designed it. Guess your at my strategy too, just poised an ready to pounce at the moment lol Personally it does look very, very good chart wise at this moment . . . was hoping for a few more points lower, though I know in my own experience, hanging on for perfection and then I miss target lol. Hi there mate, sorry for late reply. Did read your post on my phone yesterday, was muttering 'Goodbye' to a dear friend as his last curtains closed. Yes, it does look like a like perfection, see our Barc shares over the pond are testing the magic $10's With all the platforms advising a sell on the DOW and FTSE, which really means 'Buy' as they are trying to clean a few percent off the books. Did post recently that I was dubious about the SP atm and lurking for a few last bolster buys. FTSE may test a few areas as the pound falls back, the 100 correlates it as we all know. So I think the big boys will put pressure on the pound, while the platforms can wipe off the few percent who are shorting atm, then we may see a few percent pull down on our Barcs SP again. Cant see this dropping much in my own personal opinion, its coiling in formation as we can all see. When we do finally see a lift it should be a decent one. Always a pleasure to see your posts. How on earth can 2 respected institutions release targets so far apart. These so called professional banking analysts should be giving founded technical opinions of this share in the coming months, you can expect the odd 10,20, 30 points difference, though where the hell are these estimates coming from ? "The *anking department?" Cant help thinking of my ole grandad, he called them all 'Merchant Bankers" and never trusted the banks. Personally I think this share would have moved back in the mid 170's already if not for Carnage indicating a small rate increase in coming months, which is really so much hot air, knowing the pounds is going to get shunted again. Its a matter of whether we would have seen 160's tested, despite dropping some of its dead non core already. So personally if we breached into the 170's that looks like the belly line to me atm. That bloke needs a sign on his shoulders "Buyers be Ware" lol How low in your own opinion do you see Barcs retracing, my personal buy trigger is mid / late 170's, really can not see much pressure below this amount, taking into account Barcs cut down most non core. If for what ever pressure Barclays possibly did fall any lower, it would not be long before a bounce back. We have all see this share kicked around and then punted north, especially pre results and compounded with a potential rally up towards December. What ever happens with Brexit issues, $ / £ and inflation with rate talks. 2018 we will see many looking at the Fianls when we should see a divi increase announcement. If not Jez and Mac will get launched at the AGM. Taking into account the PPi nonsense closure, thats when every man and his dog will see potential in these shares again. The clever ones will obviously buy in early and not jump on the "band wagon" when its passing by. After the crash it had the typically 'Dead cat Bounce' settled and retraced, then smashed up to 140's. Took its breath and they sold out of Black Rock, which catapulted it towards 240's and the ever teasing £3 plus. Then we took the FSA and Governments "Lets pillage the share holders" crap. As they say "Every dog has its day" can't wait for these fleas to be shook off ! Personally I see one more low in these shares and thats the chance gone . . . until another major correction that is. Hence, Carnage has not yet requested a Press / media conference. Personally the only way to control any inflation is to raise rates, though I strongly think he is playing a 'hope and see what happens' game, waiting for the $ pressure on our £ to evolve. As always GL

'Don't shoot the messenger" its just my opinion atm This Thursday Carnage is expected to raise the rates . . . though he usually is professional enough to request a news conference afterwards, if and when he does. So without this request, he may just be arrogant enough to leave as is. I did not buy more at 184 and was holding for a tad lower. So watching 191 up is costly to me, though the pound has been rising strong against the Greenback. Seeing the £ / $ in wave 4 at this current time, possible 134 and then slipping in 5 nicely, which then re traces to a new low against the $. So if this is pattern does play out it will have more pressure on our Barclays shares. on the other hand, Barclays is seen by many as being largely undervalued at these levels, which I fully agree with. Though its is here sub 2's for a very good reason. All the common indicators flagged up a buy signal at mid 180's recently, so my guess is this will be a small bounce. Before testing lower ground yet again. One of my friends is still away on vacation with his family, he does not have any opinion on Barclays at the moment either. So we have possible pressure from Carnage, Thursday, St Ledgers Day for the 'Old school' this Saturday. Clear pressure on the £ / $ playing in the mix. Plus the Q3 results due to be released 31st October. So as per usual, we see a bit of strength in the £ reflecting on the SP and hopefuls willing a rate rise, then the usual build up for Q3, only to be pressed down on if the £ gets pressure against the $ No wonder I have some grey fur now ! It certainly looks that way. Though Investec's Roger seems to think this is soon a 245. Citi Group and Sach's think 160 / 180's Must stress to take their predictions with a 'pinch of salt' One friend who happens to work for one of the above lol, seems to think Barc's were going to bounce around 2.00's. My other friend who messaged me only yesterday afternoon with "it is getting there" is thinking of 185 /180. With 165 being the next point. It certainly does look like they may be right for once, they have called a few wrong ones in the past. Korea has their National Day today, so 'Kim wrong un' might do something foolish ? The Insurers are all bracing for this other hurricane to blow though and they can estimate their book losses, which in turn is what Barclays are playing on atm. Barcs have indirect financials there too, so all in all I think we will see a bounce off this level pretty soon. Currently waiting to buy some more myself. Then if we do see a positive turn its all good and if we see a further downturn, then I just average down even more. Do wish someone would investigate these PPI firms and claims rather than keep bleeding the Banks share holders. Makes my stomach turn each and every time I hear the word PPI If Jez behaves himself, May grows a pair and PPI wears thin, this will be the time, we all can sit back and enjoy these painful past years. Trust everyone else can trade again today. The really frustrating thing apart from losing money, is all of this could easily have been avoided months ago ! Is there anyone else on here who endured all these (same) issues months back ? Why didn't they correct them then, unless they do wish to brass all customers off, then start again with "newbies' Which may profit the brokerage side much more "like a lamb to the slaughter" maybe ? just makes no sense what so ever p1$$ing so many clients off, when they knew of these issues. My only conclusion is that it is more of the case of "like it or lump it" both with staff and clients. Anyhow, moving on . . .
