It’s a tough one. Fundamentals might not have changed but market momentum clearly has.
The ‘I can’t sell at 22p’ concept is flawed for me. If this is going to 18p or 15p then selling at 22p is a masterstroke isn’t it?
For me... I sold a third of my shares at 28p and bought into ZPHR. Of course I wish I’d sold a third at 40p. Not sure what I will do next. My average is 10p. I’ll sell another third at 20p if we get to that. Hopefully not.
Maybe I’m a mug. But I’ll take actual profit every day over potential profit. For me the ‘potential argument’ is like saying.. ‘hold onto your £50 bet on a 10/1 horse that really should be even money, rather than cash in for £100’. I’ll take £100 every time. Seen too many people hold onto shares going into reverse. SXX, ECO, HUR both burned me like this.
Irrespective of the share, I broadly have a simple approach. If a share triples its value I do some profit taking (ie my original investment back). If a share halves in value then I sell a chunk.
Let’s hope a jump is round the corner. Seeing red almost every day now is getting seriously tedious.
