Enquest need to pay down the debt. It’s not sexy but it has served us well so far. The oil business is not rocket science. You produce oil as efficiently as you can, and replace reserves as cheaply as you can. We also have tentative forays into diversification at SVT + electrification.

I see no value in ENQ producing financial forecasts for investors. We get a year ahead production guidance and I think that is about right. Imagine how worthless any projections made in 2016 would have been.

If investors need to be enticed by a sales pitch then they are not really the type of investors we want.

Just doing the calcs- at SP of 0.75p there would be 133 million new shares issued to prolific for the cash they lent us in October.

As the money is already spent it will add nothing to the market cap, so I expect the SP to drop by a proportionate amount. It comes out at 0.58p

Not a good place to be when we need to raise funds urgently for the 2nd phase of the seismic in the next month or so (rainy season ends in mid January).

I think there might be another placing and consolidation coming down the line here :(

I also don’t think much of the 8p drop from the recent high has to do with the guidance miss. The majority of that is due to omicron and general risk off in the broader markets.

If omicron is a damp squib we will see a strong start to 2022 IMHO. All news is pointing to that scenario at the moment.

KO - I don’t think AB is manipulating the SP, lying to investors etc. as you all seem to think. He is just buying low and hoping to sell higher, or have a nice long term dividend for his charitable legacy.

A windfall tax will not happen IMHO. It would be counter productive. The government are already getting extra revenue from producers through the normal tax structure. And investment climate is already terrible after all the COP26 North Sea bashing.

AB will benefit by the SP rising, not stagnating.

It is green warriors like Chilting that have put us in this position with high energy prices. Disinvestment in oil, and constant bullying threats about the world burning if we take a few flights a year is what has caused high fossil fuel prices (and IMHO will have real adverse consequences for billions of people).

Talk about balancing domestic supply. We would need a massive ramp up in oil and gas production to achieve this. The last year we produced more oil than we consumed was in 2004.
