We got one for Peter Rabbit and that was much less significant than Bond, so I still think its fair to expect one for Bond in the near future. Let’s see what happens there…

And during this week, I think it is fair to expect one. I hope they word it along the lines of ‘our best performing opening weekend thus far, exceeding levels seen before the pandemic’ or something to that effect.

That will really spur up investors for sure, if we can start the week back up at c. 80-82 and then if they announce later on in the week we may even see 90 perhaps if the growth continues.

Either way, cinema is back and better than ever before imo! Just like many have pointed out including myself, I’ve never seen it busier even pre-pandemic.

Hello lsesb and Graham, how is SuperScreen like? My preferred one has always been 4DX, but I’ve never tried any other ones lol.

How is SuperScreen? Why that over 4DX and/or the standard 2D?

As someone who lives up North, I can say we’ve had explosive demand up here. Even bookings for 7 days ahead are almost all sold out.

Every customer we get through the door is a source of profit for us. Even if they decide to not buy any concessions, we still make a small profit on that, this is why I think that this company is a massive money-maker. I will not be surprised to see £1b profit within the next 2-3 years with all the cost cutting we’ve been doing too, so expect a dividend higher than 15p if you’re willing to hold that long.

Hello Mastertrading, absolutely. With regard to the debt, Mooky has reassured us that the debt is manageable. If I were a shorter I would be struggling to sleep at this point.

Bond is going to be an amazing success, I went into the cinema just a little while ago because I got impatient and decided to move my pre-booking a week earlier to today and there was already a queue nearly going out of the cinema itself, the first showing of Bond at this cinema is later on in the afternoon, so the demand is huge. Barely any space left in the 4DX seat pre-booking itself as well, I consider myself very lucky to have been able to secure a seat for later.

Firstly, CINE still has quite a small market cap. This means that it doesn’t require a lot of money to move the price around, and as a result this stock has a high beta of >3.

Secondly, you’re spot on about the volume. Put simply, economics of supply and demand means that if volume fails to meet demand, then the price will rise or fall to meet that demand. Just as you say, if someone has bought a lot of shares and is holding them, if they decide to sell when the volume is low they are going to have much more impact on the sp than if they sold when the volume was higher, reason being that when the volume is low there are less shares moving around, so that means there is less supply to meet that demand, and the sp moves more drastically than usual to meet that demand.

Thirdly, there’s a lot of theories about market manipulation by hedge funds. CINE remains the most shorted stock on the UK market at about 8.3% last time I checked. Note that this 8.3% figure only includes short positions about 0.5% of the stock. I pointed out the other day as well that we saw a few hedge funds that lowered their short position just under 0.5% and then it stops getting tracked. It’s worth understanding that many of these hedge funds work in co-operation, due to the fact that there’s power in numbers, so if you have another 10 hedge funds shorting 0.49% each, you get another 4.9% short without it being visible to anyone else.

However, at the end of the day fundamentals prevail imo, and the sp cannot continue decreasing and decreasing on good news, the company would take action to see what is going on. We have seen a bit of this already taking place with the announcement that Mooky is looking to open a US listing back in August. That is due to the fact that the UK market is it appreciating the true value of the business, and I can nearly guarantee you that short sellers have had a part in keeping the market cap down here as well.

Tra1, JNJ is about 16% of my portfolio, I topped up earlier on in the week at $163-164 and bought more today as well, avg is about $161. I also sold BMY a few weeks back which was a decent idea.

I sold them as part of a portfolio restructuring plan I made towards the beginning of this month, portfolio was not performing well at all, was down close to 12% a few weeks ago. Now having taken out many positions that weren’t growing as expected, I put a lot more towards CINE and I have been rewarded from that decision, I was up about 2% on the portfolio earlier in the week when we were peaking so hundreds of losses have been recovered this week. CINE is about 36% of my portfolio.

Stocks like BMY and MRK weren’t really growing too much, but their dividends were fantastic. I’m more inclined towards growth :)

smalltrader it gets worse, I bought Moderna at $128 a few months ago and sold at $164 when Joe Biden expressed interest in getting rid of vaccine patents.

One day I decided to look at the share price and I nearly collapsed on the spot XD

Tra1, absolute pain. I sold my MRK position at $72 last week because I got fed up of the slow growth overtime and decided to invest it into CINE mostly and a few other stocks.

To be honest, it has probably yielded more in CINE over these past few days than MRK would have.

What you need to realise is that we’re not just banging on about Bond in particular. Firstly, the court case is also going well for us at the moment. This was also given institutional support on Monday where we found out that Polaris had increased their stake. I made a post outlining how Polaris decided to choose CINE but not Cineplex, despite the fact that time zone differences would make cineplex stock easier from a trading and management perspective. It was an intentional decision, they probably also looked at the likelihood of another lockdown in the UK and came to the conclusion that the risk is not that great.

Secondly, the market is forward looking. Having seen the fantastic Q4 line up you would expect that people would buy in anticipation for that. Q4 of course not only contains Bond, but Venom Spider-Man etc, and when combined together you will almost certainly see a massive increase in our profits.

What we are seeing with Bond is a massive recovery for the cinemas. As lpd pointed out earlier, on GMB people were reporting going to the cinema for the first time in 2 years. That in itself should warrant an sp rise imo, more customers in the future means more money for us in the longer term.

So it’s a whole host of different reasons which should be causing an increase in the sp. Not only that, but the biggest fact I think most of us can agree on is that we were at 124p in the middle of March when everything was closed and now we start at c. 70-80, that makes no sense. For me, I will hold my shares until at least the company restores to reasonable value. We were at 180p with cineplex in the picture, when cineplex acquisition wasn’t going to happen the sp was at 300p+ consistently, and now that the acquisition isn’t happening I’d expect at least 300p in the next 2-3 years. Plus the cost-saving measures I love to talk about as well, plus the improvements across the estate designed to keep customers coming back imo, all of it should lead to higher profit margins in the future.

It is what it is all! Nothing related to CINE specifically at all, whole market fall and FollowTheBear has posted us an article to the reason.

Indeed it is a shame after such a fantastic opening Thursday, however the stock will recover strongly I believe during next week again I believe :)

Try book at Leicester Square, space is nowhere to be found. The booking system just says error, all of the times except IMAX are just showing error or no space available for that matter. I have my tickets booked for next week.

From what I remember, I’ve never seen this level of demand even pre-pandemic. This is truly a fantastic evening for the company as a whole. Money will be flying left right and centre for cineworld tonight lol, we are the largest cinema chain in the UK, plus we have 4DX, SuperScreen etc, which bring more people into our cinemas imo, seeing the volume of demand for 4DX tonight alone is fantastic. Combine that with the cost-saving measures PLUS the concessionary income, profit must be coming in very thick and very fast. And to think people sold their shares off for 62p a few weeks back, I hope you are all doing well. Definitely not at all too late to buy back in imo. Not financial advice, all in my opinion.

Closing price a bit disappointing, but at the same time we can’t expect it to go in a straight line as many have pointed out. Managed to buy some more at c. 77p today, I’m confident for an increase again tomorrow, we belong at 100p minimum now imo.

In my eyes, 6% down is a great buying opportunity! Now very close to my 77.2 average, have a nice little cash position, so will be averaging down very shortly!

We have seen the ability of this stock, so I’m very confident to average up. Not once have I thought of selling :)
