Bonkers- good morning to you also, I don’t think it was just Polaris alone. It goes without saying that when people see the sp flying like it was, many also decide to buy. I was one of those people who bought at 74p on the way up as I had left over funds that I wanted to use to top-up CINE, and I wanted to quickly jump on before it got to high. Many here and elsewhere did the same thing, which caused the price to surge further.

Again, it also comes down to the low volume which amplifies the price rise. Because the volume was insufficient at the time to handle all of Polaris’ and other people’s transactions, the price rose significantly to meet that demand.

So those 2 reasons are why the price rose 30% on just one transaction.

Firstly, if Mooky and the investor relations at the company have no control over the sp then who does? If investor relations came out and explained that we are opening a US listing, that would affect the sp. If investor relations announced that we have managed to secure further funding, that would also affect the sp. Most importantly, investor relations have a different way of getting in touch with regulators if they feel the sp is being manipulated, they have a different form to fill in and it will likely be treated much more seriously. The price manipulation is not fair to the company at the end of the day.

That leads me to my second point regarding the equity raise. I have said numerous times here before that a rights issue or any kind of equity refinancing is not an option at the moment because that very same equity is being artificially depreciated. I hypothesise that for the company, it is probably better to wait for the condition of the company to improve, get the sp up and THEN do an equity raise if still required, where they will be able to get more out of it then. An equity raise right now will make a very little difference to the mountain of debt we have right now, so what is the point of disadvantaging shareholders for something that will make a little difference? Not to mention the fact that Mooky and his shareholding will be completely diluted as well. Not to also mention the fact that Mooky has reassured us that the debt is manageable right now, so rights issue, if still needed, is something much further down the line.

With regard to the catalyst, I believe it was the perfect storm of both Bond and Polaris together, more Polaris imo. Court case win or solid company performance would be a much bigger catalyst imo.

Polaris bought up another 0.44% of the stock and the share price rose from 64 to 84, that is a rise of over 30% in the sp. Now imagine if shorts wanted to close with 9% of the total stock in short interest, it would crush them to pieces. That is the danger of low volume, it is simply too dangerous for them to close, they got themselves in this position. Their one and only hope now is to dig a deeper hole for themselves and pray that people fold and sell up so they can close with the most minimal damage as possible. Either way, they know they are screwed, it is just a case of trying to leave with the least amount of wounds they can.

In terms of the selling, there is no more actual big selling from real investors going on. The volume is low, full stop, so private investors are not selling in their masses like the sp is leading you to believe. It is a last ditch attempt by the hedge funds to get you to sell up. Personally, they will not see a single share from me.

At the end of the day, the suppression is temporary. If we become profitable in the next earnings report and we are still at 65-80p by that point, it will attract a lot of attention. Everyone is in it for the money. We are already undervalued at 65p considering our future prospects of profitability, so once that profitability actually arrives and if we are still at 65p I can almost guarantee people will jump to it. It would be free gold at that point.

Of course, I’m not expecting us to still be at 65p by March 2022, but it is just an example that common sense always prevails when it comes to this, no matter how much the hedge funds want to suppress. We have seen that our stock has international recognition. We have Jangho in China and Polaris in the US, and that proves that people and institutions are still willing to go about foreign investments. The capacity for a short squeeze and rise back to 180p+ is there, we just have to be patient for it. There were people on this bb that sold at the very low 60s and then we had the price rise to 84 the following week, you never know what’s around the corner…

Absolutely WackWack. Unfortunately, and I hate to say it, but they can effectively do whatever they want. They need to strike a balance though, if they drop it too low or too fast then they risk regulatory trouble because there is only so much that Mooky and investor relations will allow before it gets out of hand.

What is also nice to remember is that the cards are stacked against the hedge funds because every time they increase their short position, they also increase the amount of interest they have to pay. So again, there is only so much they can do before it becomes financially unviable for them in terms of the interest. I reckon that once we get a catalyst that will be the end of that. Remember that when you short at a higher price, it is also more expensive, so once we get a catalyst and the price increases there is an incentive to not short again after due to the higher price. They have really gone above and beyond to short this stock, and we are already close to 9%. There is only so much they can short before it becomes very dangerous for them. They have clients to satisfy, and I believe everyone saw what happened with GME earlier in the year. The sentiment around short selling is much more cautious now after seeing what power private investors actually hold. All imo.

We have seen day after day of very low volume, that means that there are not a lot of shareholders that are selling up. On the contrary, it actually appears they are holding.

That is a massive problem for the hedge funds, because if they want to close their short position now (which they very well may want to) it would cause a meteoric rise in the share price due to low volume, and that would result in massive losses for them. So what hedge funds try to do is cause FUD via the media (Motley Fool comes to mind) and also by increasing their short position. What they do (for those not fully aware) is that they borrow shares. They then create a sudden demand for a sell by selling the shares on the market and it is THAT which is causing the price to fall.

When the volume is low and there is not a lot of activity going on, a large order to sell by the hedge funds drastically affects the sp, as there is insufficient volume to complete the order. Therefore, the price drops to try and encourage more buying and to complete the selling that the hedge funds are putting through due to the short position.

They do all of that in the hope of getting you to sell off your shares with the constantly dropping price. When you sell, they win, as you create a bit of extra volume for them to buy and to incrementally close the short position. Let’s face it, they’re smart. No smart individual would be increasing their short position now as we go into a strong Q4 slate, of which we started very strong with Bond. They are increasing the short position because they have no choice at the moment. If they try to close now, the losses would be too great, so they are banking on you to panic.

All imo. We have seen quite a lot of constant derampers here too, so you don’t know who is who and who they’ve been sent from (if anyone). Doing your own research is one of the most powerful tools when it comes to this, because even when the price is dropping on a daily basis just as it is now, you know exactly what you’ve invested in and you know there is no need to panic.

Good morning all, hope everyone is doing well.

In my opinion, we are currently under siege by the market makers and hedge funds that have a lot of money, skill and time. Unfortunately, our trades are not sufficient to overtake them. What we need is some kind of catalyst that will cause institutions to pump money and buy shares up. We have also unfortunately seen that simple good news about the box office is not a strong enough catalyst. The nearest catalyst with good potential on the horizon is the court case, which I hope we are successful in. If unfortunately we are not successful, I would surmise that the next potential catalyst would be FY 21 next March.

It’s all just time and patience, we will get there eventually. All imo.

Danosaur- US listing is definitely on the cards, I just hope that they can hurry up and do it soon if they are going to. Even though it would be unfortunate to see it move, we have to do what we have to do I suppose. I remember the day that the entire US market was red and then Cinemark as up 5% the weekend after Bond opened. That is what you call normal price action

You explained that you have managed to contact her before and you got a response, do you know which email you used, not as easy to find as Mooky’s lol.

It’s very simple to see. We have zero news relating to the company and we become one of the worst performing stocks on the FTSE. It is evident that shorters and other financial institutions are tampering with the price.

I’m getting very annoyed with it and I’ve been in this share for 7 months, I can only imagine how others who have been here longer are feeling.

I feel that we have a collective duty as shareholders to stand up for this behaviour and to do something about it. By allowing this suppression to continue, we are not only disadvantaging ourselves, but also the company itself, as the company is currently unable to tap into its equity for financing due to it’s artificial depreciation.

If we have another lockdown or any other kind of problem that needs money, the company is not able to go to it’s equity, that is a big problem. When you invest your money in this company, the market makers and shorters come to do their work and they negate your investment.

I believe we should start looking along the lines of reporting this to the FCA, those of us who can, so we can bring it to the attention of them by mass reporting, and hopefully have an investigation to see what is going on. It is massively obvious at this point.

Fantastic explanation MasterTrading, indeed it is quite concerning to be facing many other firms who are all bigger and more powerful, but imo common sense prevails. We’ve seen the start of it with Polaris, once more firms and people begin to see that this company is deeply undervalued, they will begin to buy and the price will begin to rise.

I think a short squeeze is on the cards, and the catalyst may well be the court case, fingers crossed for us. Eventually we will get there, stay strong all :)
