Hello FunInvestor, smalltrader pointed out the other day that historically we have usually seen a trading update in November/December.

Of course, I’m not in control of when they release one, but based on past events it looks like one is on the horizon :)

Indeed, the ending was very very quick. The film went at a normal pace at the start then started speeding up and the ending came fast. I must say the 4DX was probably the most intense I’ve ever had it (my 5th 4DX), so that really kept me on edge lol

Aquaman sounds like a fun one in 4DX too, I believe another one is coming next year if I’m not mistaken?

Good evening all, watched Venom in 4DX 3D today.

BlueBuxton doesn’t seem well pleased, however I personally enjoyed the film. I hope to watch it again sometime soon. It was quite short and I can see where BlueBuxton’s CGI comments are coming from.

On the other hand, the cinema was packed solid and the concessions stand had about 5 different queues and pretty much all the tills were in use. People were flowing into the cinema for the next showing, very busy indeed.

Looking very forward to the predicted trading update in November, I’ve never seen the cinemas this busy ever. When Mooky was talking about pent-up demand he definitely wasn’t joking with us about it :)

Whether we commissioned it or not doesn’t matter imo. What matters was that it was a professional interpretation of what went on. Everything there was in black and white and there was no good defence at all by the CP counsel.

Concerns about whether it was biased towards CINE was why CP was given the chance to cross-examine the witness, which they failed miserably at. Their best defence was a school bus.

Imo it’s nothing to worry about, the judge will see the cold and hard facts which is exactly what was listed in that report.

As many have pointed out today, the market is up but CINE is down. We’ve seen it all before. Remember that if you sell, the shorters win, you create a bit of volume for them to buy and close. Looking at the graph we had a very slight increase this morning, it then looks like the volume became low and then we see a sudden drop. Once again, they’re taking advantage of low volume to create these drastic fluctuations in price in order to shake off investors.

Remember that the fact that the volume is low means there are not a lot of people selling up, don’t fall into their trap. I have just seen lpd’s post where he/she says that numbers will prevail in the end and indeed he is correct. Court case is almost done, trading update on the way and still a fantastic and so far uninterrupted Q4 film slate (disruption is something a few of us were worried about in summer).

The light at the end of the tunnel is fully clear now, we are nearly there :)

He needs to sort himself out lol, he is completely out of whack. How do you come into court about a cinema case and involve school buses into the equation, that is completely beyond me, I was laughing at that part.

If we can get a juicy win out of this, I think we’ve bagged ourselves an absolute bargain along with the free entertainment as a bonus :)

Come on, how desperate must you be to bring school buses into a court proceeding about a cinema company? It is an embarrassment not only to Cineplex but also to Goodmans counsel to bring in a set of lawyers (except the tall young man who is more respectable) who screech and shout to witnesses of the opposing company lol, I feel like the Judge didn’t even bother to tell them off because her mind is already made up, no matter the amount of shouting the lawyers want to do.

Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves anyway, I do feel we have argued our case very well and we have ended with the perfect witness. Mr Carlucci effectively explained and confirmed everything that our case was based on. In the beginning days of this trial there were some of us who were contemplating whether Cineplex had a bombshell to drop on us at the end, turns out it is the complete opposite.

Payday very shortly and considering to increase my position, already very heavy into CINE (34%) but I’m very confident. What a time to be a CINE shareholder!

Mr Mark is now banging on about his hypothetical school bus business which is quite literally the total opposite of a cinema business. Love how Mr Carlucci says that it’s an orange and apples comparison lol.

If Mr Mark wanted to sell his business at $10m, but then he took away all the buses from the company would he still expect this business to sell at 10m? Point is that we were not buying the same Cineplex that we were signing for in December 2019.

Good afternoon antmoss, indeed cineworld could raise liquidity through other ways, but the other ways are not in the best interests of shareholders nor the company.

They could take out more debt, which is not the best option with the current over-leveraged status of our company.

They could do a rights issue, and we all know how that wouldn’t be advantageous to shareholders (especially Mooky).

Hence, I believe they are thinking about a US listing and they may list it at a higher market cap than it is currently and cineworld would pocket the difference and use it to pay down debt.

Not the biggest fan of it due to the fact that taxes on dividends is massive from US to UK, plus we’d also have to account for FX impact. We only added about $900m in debt over the pandemic so I feel like with a few years (don’t forget the cost saving measures too) we could pay down the debt ourselves. I think it was just a consideration at the time.

Good afternoon BlueBuxton, you’re in the exact same situation as me in that your shares are in an ISA.

The biggest issue would be that you would be subject to a 15% withholding tax on dividends, as well as FX impact on the dividend too, so you lose quite a big chunk of the dividend. I’m really not looking forward to that, and it’s one of the very big reasons I want the listing to remain in the UK.

In addition to that, your investment itself would be subject to FX impact, which would affect your gains as well.

For those not watching, our witness has just reminded the court that whilst other cinema chains were increasing their debt in Q1+2, Cineplex actually paid back more than they even borrowed in that quarter (from what I understand).

It doesn’t get any more diversionary from ordinary course than that…
