Also having a look back at the short position history, I see many firms that are in there that have reduced their short position slightly below 0.5%, presumably to remove themselves from the tracker. Note that they stop tracking the position after it falls under 0.5%. Similar to what we’ve seen in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a machination happening on the inside. If you want to short 3%, you split it amongst 6 other firms and make it 0.5% each, accept the risk and then boom, you manage to go under the radar from the tracker. It’s all dirty games at the end of the day, they will go to any extent to avoid detection. I would bet that the short interest is way higher than the 8.16% being shown on the website at the moment.

For instance:
Tekne Capital had a 1.12% position in August 2020, then reduced it to just below 0.5% in January
Marshall went from 0.7% in December to just under 0.5% in January also.
Lovely citadel went from 1.1% in September 2020 to just under 0.5% in January also.

I think someone will be getting fired from Whitebox in particular very soon…

Had a look on shorttracker just now and seen that Whitebox have increased their short by a further 0.06% today. I think that’s as stupid as it gets imo. Literally a few hours away from what may very well be our highest grossing film since the pandemic, and you increase your short position. That is a more efficient way of losing money than just burning it yourself imo. Quite clear to see they are averaging up. I sleep so comfortably at night, safe in the knowledge that they will soon regret their position. With their 1.63% short, I am very excited to see a nice rise when they eventually decide to close. Our good friends over at New Holland aren’t doing a single thing either (at least not visible to the open public), all of them soon will be crying.

At least AHL appear to have regained some sense and have reduced by 0.10%. All imo.

How come you think the Monday volume spike was shorters continuing to increase? Now that it is Monday wouldn’t we have seen such a large increase reflect on the Short tracker?

Notice how Polaris bought our stock and not cineplex? Despite the fact that cineplex is located not too far from them in Canada, whilst our stock is located on the LSE, right across the Atlantic Ocean. They have to deal with different time zones and a completely different currency. It would have likely been easier for them to buy cineplex considering the trading hours are the same.

The most likely reasons are plenty, but the first one that springs to mind is the cineplex case. Perhaps Polaris share our same sentiment that we are doing fantastic in this court case. Heck, they may have been waiting for a long time to buy CINE just to see how we go in this court case, and I think our lawyers are selling us very well.

Cineplex also down 3% right now, right after our 12% rise yesterday. What an embarrassment. I’m confident that the cineplex bb will be nearly dead today lol.

Today’s performance is very promising. I think we will continue a steady rise for Bond. Whole market was down today and we were up and flying at the start and we also closed green. If we see another drop tomorrow; I think I may top up again, I’m slightly above of my 77 average at this present time but if we see another drop like today again tomorrow, I’m running for it.

Also nice reminder of the small conversation happening here yesterday regarding the possibility of another RNS that was brought up by antmoss yesterday. Polaris transaction took place on Friday and the price rose from c. 68 to 72. Monday saw a nearly 12% rise even before the RNS came out, which is very interesting indeed and I believe all of us here are on the same page that it wasn’t private investor levels of volume yesterday. If a 6% rise in the sp brought out an RNS, then a 12% one must do as well imo (assuming it was large institutional ownership increase)

I do not want to directly engage with this argument, as I don’t want to destroy the atmosphere in this place after our fantastic rise recently.

What I will say to Bonkers is that this is a bb for investors primarily. So at the end of the day, it is only logical to expect an overly optimistic and positive commentary here, even if it is not to your taste.

With regard to BC, his money is his choice. He could scalp millions of shares at once if he wants, or he could hold for years, for us it does not matter. What matters, and what is also the reason behind the variation in the responses that you highlighted that you receive between BC and yourself, is the fact that BC has a positive outlook and that it is reflected here. We are all (or at least vast majority) want a rise in the sp, so when we hear good things we give it a good response. That is human instinct.

Instead Bonkers, you resort to degrading smalltrader by calling him smallman, and you also say that you may ‘want to cause an argument next week, but not this week’. Why do you want an argument in the first place?

Bonkers, I fully understand and respect that you have your own views and opinions, and that you too are entitled to express them. But degrading others and looking for arguments is just quite petty, and it lessens the mood here.

I will give you an example, the other day there was a thread regarding a takeover price that Netflix would put forward and I made a very lengthy response and said that I would not be happy with anything under c. 300p at the moment. Me and sharefall had a good exchange and Plumber said that he would ‘bite my hand off for 200p’, suggesting that he would be happy with that price. Even though his view is in contrast to mine, I did not seek to start an argument and I also did not proceed to call him ‘littleman’. Do you see how it is possible here to have a contrasting view and not instantly be torn to shreds?

antmoss- I remember hearing 2023 somewhere too, however I have no issue with continuing to hold to that time and beyond. I don’t need the money any time in the distant future.

antmoss, the day that Mooky says the dividend is coming back will probably be one of the best days of my life considering my how much I’ve put into this company lol (relative to how much I earn). I don’t have an exit price, I would love to get the dividend :D

Also part of the reason why I don’t really want to see a takeover either, but hey ho it’s a subjective thing.

Let’s also remember that cineworld has the largest market share of any other cinema in the UK, including Odeon. We also have the fantastic offering like 4DX and SuperScreen etc that I think bring more people to our cinema. It has most likely played a part in getting us to the largest cinema chain in the UK.

Nice to hear cineworld is employing more staff. When Cineworld said they were well positioned for future growth, we now see this in action.

As to the shorters increasing, they must be very stupid indeed. I think they may be expecting a pull back from the c. 12% we had today, in the long run they will regret it I think. My theory is that they are expecting cineworld to default on interest payments, even though Mooky has said in black and white that we are able to manage out debt at the moment. Very crazy people…

I, for one, enjoy your commentary here and I would love to see you more active once again here, however as we can see it is not to everyone’s taste.

Either way, you are entitled to you own opinion here, just as Bonkers and other participants here. I will not be taking sides as I don’t want to fuel the fire.

However, I will offer this as a solution. Bc has shown willingness to prove that his holding is genuine as he says it is. As we can see a fellow poster here has shown us that it is indeed possible to show screenshots and other things via the shipboard website. So, if you wish to prove that you are welcome to post a snip board link showing that. Of course, you don’t have to prove anything to anyone and that is your prerogative; I’m simply offering a solution.

Today’s trading session is nearing to an end very soon, tomorrow is another day and I’m very excited for it :))

antmoss this was also a question I wanted to ask as well, the price on the 23rd when the actual transaction was completed was around 68. So the price rose from our normal 60-62 range to 68 based on a 0.45% increase.

We are now from 68 to 80, that is phenomenal, so doing some very basic mental maths if we were to have an RNS of increased holding like this again, that one must be in the region of 2-3% of the outstanding equity. Thinking on the spot here, it may be that someone else (or group of others) knew about the Polaris increase beforehand and is quickly trying to get in now. Now that this RNS is out it shows institutional interest and confidence. This is a big thing and I think the increase today and Polaris is going to have a knock on effect. You see one person buying like that, then of course you wouldn’t want to miss out.

Todays increase is not just private investors buying in confidence, this is big money exchanging hands here, so I would not at all be surprised if we saw another RNS of increased holding like this. I think you’re spot on.
