I have noticed that comment as well @forest, I can only assume they have some sort of auto-filter.

I was thinking just to make a post without CINE in the title and just mentioning the cinema chain (but not by name) and then to write r/cineworldstock and then they get taken directly to our page on reddit through that (as it auto-links)

Alternatively, someone could also make a post on r/cineworldstock and then they could crosspost it to WallStreetBets and that way they would be able to see it.

Both ways may work to circumvent the filter they have imposed. Remember we are doing this because Cineworld is a great investment idea in our opinion!

The only way around it fully is to use an ISA unfortunately :/

A lot of us on this board were placing pending orders to try and get our CINE shares out of reach of the short sellers. So some were setting stop/limit orders at very high prices (like 100p+). Perhaps that’s a suggestion?

@clued I think we stand a good chance personally. Adam Aron has done a great thing for us today, he has got us on the map and in the peripheral vision of many AMC investors.

If it gains momentum on WSB, then the AMC investors in there would likely have some familiarity with the word ‘Cineworld’, so past that point it’s a chain reaction as it spreads. It just needs that little spark first imo.

Remember, we are showing it as an investment idea and an investment idea only :D

A TR-1 is a type of document that a company issues (in the form of an RNS usually) when a large shareholder makes a change to a position. It shows the change in ownership they have in the company as well.

The last one we had was a few months ago, when Polaris slightly decreased their position.

In addition to this, Cineworld is 9th on the list for the most added shareholders this week on Trading 212. 27,686 last week, now on 28,293. An addition of 607.

Just also for a little comparison of the competition:

Adam Aron better get his act together…

Just got an email from Trading 212, they send one every week showing which stocks are the most traded.

Cineworld topped the list. They also show the buy:sell ratio, which was 82% to 18% last week.

Certainly looks like private investors picked up on the dip, now we await a TR-1 from HQ, one has to be on the way surely imo. Perhaps tomorrow or Wednesday…

We have full year results coming out in 3 months time, I think we’ll get an up-to-date figure then. In the interim, I’m not sure if they’d hand it out, but worth a try :)

Very interesting read in the news about some growing discontent with AMCs ‘apes’.

To put it in a nutshell, Adam Aron recently cashed out some of his shares whilst his investor base have been holding for life and registering their shares to protect them from short sellers. Seems like quite the betrayal if I were a fanatic AMC shareholder.

Adam Aron then went further to effectively say that ‘at least we’re not Cineworld’.

Obviously a diversionary tactic to take the spotlight away from him and his selling. However if Adam Aron continues with the diversions and doesn’t get the AMC share price to maintain it’s lead, I can see a retail shareholder rebellion occurring. There are lots and lots of AMC shareholders who bought the stock at it’s inflated price, if AMC fails to keep the price that way and if it begins to decline further due to it’s over-valuation (which let’s face it, is more likely than unlikely) then it’s a matter of time until they rebel. Simple.

Adam has also done a great job for us by making his shareholders aware via his twitter that there is another embattled cinema chain that his current investors can take refuge in if he fails to step up to the plate. He very well may have shot himself in the foot. This can get very interesting indeed. How in the world can you give the perception of ‘we’re all in this together’ and then start to cash out your shares when the very same shareholders that got you that profit in the first place are continuing to hold?

In fact, this situation with AMC vs Cineworld poses a fantastic opportunity for AMC shareholders to migrate if they wish, simply due to that fact that Mooky has approx 30% of the shares AND they are at pre-pandemic average price, meaning that he’s much less likely to sell than Adam is. Could be a good thing to circulate around (just for informational purposes obviously).

This is an interesting thread. In terms of WallStreetBets, you need to be very careful about how you word it. Remember that market manipulation is indeed illegal and puts you in the same ballpark as the short sellers, so no talk about collective action in terms of the share price would really be permissible.

Instead, I will be posting to wallstreetbets about Cineworld as an INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY/IDEA. I personally think that Cineworld will yield fantastic profits for it’s shareholders in a few months time, and I think it is an absolutely fantastic idea to inform a subreddit of over 11.3 million individuals of this idea. I will also mention the (supposed) 16%+ of short interest as I think it is an important detail to add as well.

We absolutely love the stock and we think that it is a good investment idea and that is why we are posting about it on wallstreetbets, Cineworld for the win.

@insiderknowledge, the appeal will take plenty of time. In the interim, we will continue to generate revenue and profit which will allow us to accumulate the money required to pay the fine.

@bullsbears the figure has almost certainly gone down imo. We saw quite a lot of firms exiting on Wednesday and Thursday.

Interesting article indeed. I think 16% has either come from the % of free float (as someone else mentioned) or it has come from the % of stock ON LOAN.

Just catching up on today’s posts on my way home and seen a lot of continual nonsense from these three.

To those concerned that Cineworld’s profit will get swallowed up by interest payments and we might get completely stuck in debt, this is just a polite reminder that we were cash flow positive in October at 90%. If we achieved positive cash flow at 90%, then 95% and 100% shouldn’t be an issue either.

This means at 90% we had sufficient money to pay the bills (including the interest) and had a bit left over too. Not bad at all. So once the cinema industry recovers I think we will be able to pay the debt off when the maturity dates arrive :)
