The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
BBB, morning,
I have been hanging on here so long my hands have seized up. They wouldn't be comfortable any other way.
Morning all
Yayay, I also got up late. I did a double take when checked the share price so came on here to check the news/rns.
Your post has made my day, rolling about here, thanks mate.
Evening.
Glen, For a while back in the summer I had to sign in every time I came on to post and couldn't recommend posts but it's OK now.
The continual creeping increase in charges with II is annoying. II works fine for me but I find loosing the trading credit after 3 months annoying, especially since I set up my SIPP for income and don't trade in it frequently now. I shan't be trading much in my ISA much either, now that I have a good few more SGZ shares than I intended. lol.
My wife has a SIPP with AJ Bell, I'm thinking of moving everything to them. I'd save a bit of money.
Regards
Afternoon all.
Yayay, a sad and sorry tale, my commiserations. I had a poor experience with Barclays when i was a lad, I've never had any inclination to go back to them. I never considered myself a person who would hold a grudge, but I've just realised that was 50 years ago lol.
Having read of yours and others experiences, I called interactive investor re exercising my options. It took approximately 5 minutes to get the job done. The helpful lady couldn't be certain but thought the process would take about 5 working days. This probably explains why II ask for 10 working days notice when exercising options.
I'll let you know how it progresses.
Regards all.
Morning all,
Last year Graham asked the company on my behalf if there was any intention to return proceeds from Cononish to investors.
The company effectively stated that the proceeds from Cononish are intended to fund further exploration and development of additional resources to production. No dividend was intended while that process remained economically viable.
This did not come as a surprise to myself, nor to many other long term holders I suspect.
The companies often stated aim is " A significant mining industry" and this is what they are working towards.
Don't dream about dividends in the short term, its not going to happen. Think Cononish 2,3, maybe 4, have a think about exploration and development time. Then start thinking about dividends. That's why I now hold this in my SIPP as well as the ISA.
Off for a wee holiday today, Yes Glen I made it. lol.
Regards.
Evening,
CP52, Thanks for the recent info.
I have given the present scenario a bit of thought over the past few weeks and as I have previously said, have been making buys as a hedge against the share price not passing the option price. I had a target holding that I had reached including the options. I have recently bought more shares than I have options, at a small discount to the option price. I now have my target number of shares without including the options.
Therefore regarding the options: If the price stays below 40p they won't be exercised. I still have my target number of shares.
If it goes above 40p, I have the obvious choice: Exercise the options and then sell them. or exercise the options and keep them. Either way I have made a bit of money (on paper)and the company has the option money.
Just my take on the situation, certainly not advice.
Regards
Evening,
Glen, It was me that showed how to link to google maps, However the OS maps are much more detailed and accurate. That's why I was trying to use them. Plus the OS map actually shows a disused pit in glen Shira.
Regarding Shylock and buys, probably fantasy, he does have form for it after all. Why bother with the truth when you are a master fake news, with a good dose of simulated horror and indignation thrown in.
Regards all.
I suspect I can't link to the OS site actual location because I haven't paid.
Throw these into the site and you should get there.
Glen Shira: NN 15073 16263
Glen Fyne/Inverchorachan: NN 22960 16586
Abject fail lol. opologies will try harder/again.
Try again https://osmaps.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/56.30857,-4.86346,17/pin
I find the news about Inverchorachan prospects quite interesting. I've been casting my mind back. Prior to becoming a full time coffin dodger, I used to work for a utility operating hydro power stations In Scotland. One of the areas we used to frequent were Glens, Shira, Fyne and Sloy. We did get about a lot.
There were two places locally that had stories about old/defunct gold mines in that area. Bear in mind I have seen neither of these and am relating hearsay. The stories came from an old fitter who was into gold panning. Sadly no longer with us.
One story related to a shaft somewhere about here in Glen Shira. Apparently the guy and his son rolled away a boulder that was sealing up the shaft. it was not a big shaft, and turned out to be flooded.
It was somewhere about here https://osmaps.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/56.30121,-4.99562,17
The other story related to a disused mine possibly this one, https://osmaps.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/56.30861,-4.86351,17 or maybe it was further north of Inverchorachan .I really can't remember.
I don't know much more about these stories but the Stalker in that area is being approached to see if he knows anything.
I find it all a bit nebulous but surely a bit too much to be just a coincidence.
I wonder if we have any of the team over the top from Inverchorachan mooching about in Glen Shira.
As said don't know much more about it. I'll try some other local worthies and wait and see what the stalker says.
I hope the links work.
Afternoon,
RM, 'Twas I. 2000 @ 36p 10.38.57 23 Aug. Showing as a sell, definite buy.
Evening.

Another one for you, that's the port guide. shows traffic in the area.
May be they can't get in to Grangemouth at low tide, or wanted a rising tide or maybe no pilot available. We will never know lol.
Received and replied too, thanks.
Certainly.
Hi Glen, Yes I usually walk up from Tyndrum lower along the forest Rd over the wee hill, then on the return trip I follow the Cononish road along the river down to where it meets the west highland Way and then follow that back to the station, just to vary the route. It's about 6 miles round trip and takes me an hour ish each way on a good day, A bit longer if the joints are acting up. If you decide to do it it let me know and I'll come along. I'm away 4 to 10 Sept. apart from that anytime will do me.
Regards all.
Morning all, Good points Eck.
I am an optimistic, glass half full kind of person despite the recent whinging, lol. So much so that I am continuing to make small buys. That 2000 trade this morning though showing as a sell was my buy.
Regards.
Evening,
hello Yayay, I do believe they read this forum, well maybe some of them. I wouldn't have written what I have if I didn't.
I have my target number number of shares if I include my options. However I have been buying small amounts of shares steadily recently, in effect as a hedge in case the share price doesn't rise enough to make the options worthwhile. I would much rather the money went to the company for the sake of a penny or two per share, but they don't seem to want it, or not enough to encourage the share price by the release of news anyway.
Regards all.
Hello Yayay, I couldn't agree more.
Here we are, almost at production, with a share price probably about half of what it should be. I'm in here for the long haul (and a very long haul it has been so far), so the present price doesn't bother me overmuch.
Now we all know that the proceeds from Cononish are intended to fund further exploration in the area and that following that exploration the construction of a further mine/mines. The significant mining industry.
Relatively soon we will have a successful and highly profitable mine with all the proceeds being reinvested in solid prospects for the future. Unfortunately I can see a scenario where the share price is still sitting well below a pound because of the companies inability to communicate what is happening. The market will see us as a small explorer rather than extremely profitable producer who is reinvesting those profits.
Perhaps as you say, they should start employing someone who can communicate, rather than appointing gambling experts.
Regards all.
Morning,
Good point Glen(or should it be Sherlock). Thanks for your efforts.
I might try a walk up to the mine later this week, knees permitting. There might be some signs of construction works. Well one would hope so.
It's a sad state of affairs when the only way to find out whats happening is for a coffin dodger to amble about midge and cleg infested countryside in the rain.
I suspect that every attempt to provide news in the past, having been used as a stick to beat the company with by a certain paid assassin has resulted in a reluctance to feed the character information. However in my view a series of regular factual progress reports as opposed to a couple of pictures on twitter and the odd bit on proactive would do far more for the company profile and wouldn't do the share price much harm either.
Here we are in our "transformational" year, hopefully a very few months from production and what do we know about it , Jack ----!
Regards
