Company very quiet. No inclusion in Hardman report. AGM clearly delayed - board too busy to organise it or just dont want to because they need to get something done and dusted first? SP is falling cos PI's are getting nervous and selling out. I can't see why? If anything negative had happened we would have be told. If anything potentially positive is being arranged we can't be told until it is all official. Be brave when others are fearful!

Scancell not attending when everyone else is? Hmmm... :)

I did ask about other biotech shares and I have looked into a few of them, but tbh, I'm not comfortable holding any apart from Scancell individually.
I'm looking into smaller company biotech funds - ideally funds that invest in early stage non-listed companies that you cannot gain exposure to otherwise, and with managers or advisers that are tech-savvy, not just money men or women.

Indeed I have and yes I do (kind of!).
I have 99.99% trust in Scancell science, the only risk for me is that they sell or get bought out too cheap!
However, I sleep easier at night if I have a bit of diversity in my assets, and I already have a LOT of Scancell shares - it will be a life-changing event for me if they get to £1, and the science justifies 'many multiples' of that :)

Thanks, yeah I have pretty much come to that conclusion, just wondered if this sort of thing ever happened - human error. Not worth a punt really (well not with that rationale). I have some funds freed up in my SIPP after selling a biotech fund and was thinking of reinvesting in 2 or 3 biotech minnows. Any suggestions? (I am already way overweight in SCLP!). Already ruled out VAL, IMM, FARN.

..but I know there are some very decent knowledgeable folk on this board, and was wondering if any had an opinion on Faron (FARN). After recent phase 3 failure there is talk of a dosage mistake - too many given placebo instead of Traumakine. Is this a possibility or just wishful thinking on the boards? What do folk think? FARN trading at about cash-in-the-bank levels so nothing priced in.. which makes me think its probably wishful thinking!

The wording of the VAL RNS is a work of art! It carefully avoids saying anything of substance whatsoever. It is frustrating when when Scancell have the opposite approach, only releasing factual updates. I believe its called 'honesty' and 'integrity'. Not sure it has a place in the short term world of AIM... Ho hum, our time will come.

Surely tomorrows RNS is an offer of $2billion for Moditope:)

It's a new one on me, seems very early stage. But looks like a novel approach with some merit. Worth pursuing in my ( definitely NOT resident expert ) view. A long way off though.

Has anyone else notice that those with an alterior motive often use a passive agressive style?

Wouldn't do any harm to be offered a couple of billion for the company, even if the board are able to refuse it! Who knows whats going on in the background. It certainly feels like we are getting noticed which is a big change from a couple of years ago. I suspect we are on the radar of a number of big pharmas now who are watching very carefully. Wouldn't be surprised if informal offers have been made and rejected by Scancell. If someone really wants Scancell it would have to be a formal, probably hostile, takeover. I say hostile cos I don't thonk the board want to sell up completely until they can get what they consider full value. And this is clearly a labour of love for Lindy, so she probs wants to see it through to commercial results. And then keep making it better!

The placing and OO were to raise funds for: - SCIB1-checkpoint inhibitor Phase 2 US combination study. - Support the CRUK development of SCIB2 for non-small-cell lung cancer. - Commence the First-In-Human study with Modi-1 in patients with triple-negative breast cancer. - Identify Modi-specific T cell receptors in collaboration with BioNTech. - Initiate pre-clinical Modi-2 development programme for oesophageal, gastric, pancreatic and colorectal cancers. But, IMO, it was mainly needed to raise funds for the SCIB1 trial which were/are needed imminently. This doesn't mean there are not deals waiting to happen once patents are secured, it just means the board didn't consider it prudent to take the chance and wait. Also, any up-front payment from a deal may spcifiy the payment is for development in a specific area - e.g. Modi-3, so wouldn't be available for the SCIB trial. IMO the placing doesn't mean SCLP aren't close to a deal. It's probably safe to say SCLP are not close to a deal on SCIB1 though.

Would think this news will lift SP tomorrow. It's already been creeping up post open-offer and this should give it a bit of a boost, hopefuly to a steeper trajectory 😊 So hard to predict though. IMO the SP should be 10x current. Could this be the re-rate catalyst?

There is no right or wrong, it's a personal choice. Not wishing to over-simplify, but broadly speaking, there are 3 choices (and obviosuly a myriad of choices inbetween). 1) HIGH RISK: Buy and hold. Very big payout if it comes off. Lose it all if it doesn't. 2) MEDIUM RISK: Take some profits if opportuity allows (but not sell out completely) when/if market allows. Safer than (1), but not as much profit potential. 3) LOW RISK: Sell all on a tight stop / limit. Limits profits and and losses. Your own research, risk profile, required availability of funds etc.. etc.. feed into which strategy you take. Risk can be mitigated by research into the fundamentals (in this case the actual science), the trustworthiness and previous history of the board etc.. etc.. Thats essentially what a good fund manager / investor does: researche to spot anomalies that are mis-priced, because the market has priced in a level of risk that is not appropriate. Please can we stop arguing - this is investment basics.

The more I dig into Lindy's incredible work, the more I appreciate it, and the more faith I have in the company. - Mind blowing products, patent protected. - Mind blowing results to date. - hard working board clearly not just a gravy train. - history of using funds economically and wisely - and now, cash in bank, fully funded for current planned trials. It's always amazed me how Scancell have been so overlooked, and the only conclusion I can come to is that investors, form PI to pension fund managers don't research the actual science. As with so much of life, it's those who make the most noise that get the most short-term attention. Scancells 'lets just got on with it without making a big song and dance' approach is much more my style. I see another phase III failure today over at Faron Pharma, FARN. Very tough on the patients and investors there, as Phase I/II results were very encouraging.

Could an alternative mitigation strategy be to buy into a company with several lead drugs preparing for advanced trials simultaneously? Then a single failure wouldn't be so catastrophic?
