Sandy, re your point about film making, I often think of all the 'unused' stories, characters and campaigns.
Once, I even thought about putting together a screenplay for General Wolfe and his American campaigns.

But I suppose we'd need a British film industry to do it. Hollywood is too busy remaking everything or scratching around for EVERY possible superhero/X Men/deviant movie idea it can find to rehash!

The ACF was the making of me. Our posts today have brought back a lot of memories...just thinking of some of the less aged adult volunteers, those who saw active service 'after the war' too; Sarawak/Brunei, Northern Ireland and even an ex-submariner!
All great characters, with an honest outlook on life and still trying 'do their bit'. The banter was ruthless, but they were all good people.
Good times, great stories, all fondly remembered.
