Yes, leaving the politics behind, even if everything goes to Putin's/Trump's plan, there will still be the no small matter of a Russia in a much worse state than it was 3 years ago. Whilst the shooting might stop, the 'hangover' is going to take a very long time to resolve.

I've always said business is business, companies will no doubt be able to start looking at dealing internationally again, without the threat of third party sanctions, but Russia is going to be different. Putin will no doubt declare a victory and I'm sure be morevl than a little relieved it's over (for now) but his position I believe will be weaker. The economy has been savaged, there's a lot of mess to clear up and he's upset a lot of powerful people both internally and externally.

From our own selfish perspective, I think we need to look at taking any possible deal available and moving on. Hopefully this has finally made the Bod realise they need to do the same?

Putin laying all the blame on Zelensky again, and saying the proposed deal could be the 'basis' for negotiations. As I've said before, talk about overpaying your hand! Oh, and a veiled threat to Europe...and saying he's happy for the war to continue?

If my money went down the pan in exchange for seeing Putin swing from the gallows I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Here's Putin's summarised response to being asked about the proposal today...

Prior Discussion: The plan was discussed before the Alaska meeting, during which the US asked Russia to "make certain compromises and show flexibility". Russia agreed to the proposals and was "ready to demonstrate some flexibility".

International Support: Russia briefed its partners, including BRICS nations (China, India, South Africa, Brazil) and CSTO countries, and claims "everyone of them supported these potential agreements".

Blaming Ukraine for the Pause: Putin claims that a "notable pause in conversations" occurred due to "Ukraine's actual rejection of the peace plan" proposed by Trump [06:46]. He later reiterated that the US has not secured Ukraine's agreement and that "Ukraine opposes it".

Starting Basis: He stated that the new 28-point text could serve as a "starting basis for a final peace settlement", implying it is not acceptable as a final deal.

​Contradictory Claims on the Battlefield

​Putin attributed Ukraine's refusal to a belief that they can inflict a "strategic defeat upon Russia on the battlefield", a position he claims stems from a "lack of objective information".

Conclusion: Putin concluded that a prolonged war "suits us well" as it helps achieve the goals of the special military operation, but that Russia remains open to substantive diplomatic discussions.

Unfortunately, there is one catalyst for price appreciation...good assays.

All this chatter about consolidation being good, bad or indifferent is moot. However, I've been trading since the 80s and I'm struggling to remember when consolidation worked in my favour.

Also, a spiralling price will actually be the biggest motivation for further raises as other options will no doubt be off the table at that point, unless, God forbid, we go for 'death spiral' financing.

Sorry to say it (adult conversation) but if those assays are not bumper, we're cooked. Their decision to restructure with no certainty on drilling results is filling me with dread, if I'm being honest...and I think many are feeling the same.

Let's see what next week brings, hopefully not yet another stock I find hanging around my neck for years looking for a way out!

I can guarantee you Ukraine will NOT sign the 'peace' deal as presented today.

Putin will eventually (soon) realise he's going to have lose at least some face to get an agreement.

Yes, Ukrainian is facing an existential threat, but as each day goes by, things are getting harder in Russia and Zelensky knows it.

To bastardise Trump's comment 'he (Putin) doesn't hold all the cards'.

Before all the Putinistas jump on, as I've said before, no I don't believe Ukraine can 'win', but nor can Putin and he knows it. But he's definitely overplaying his hand, forced into a corner of his own making that could well result in his own demise, and he knows that too. An interesting Winter awaits, for all of us.

(PS For those still struggling with maths and mcap dynamics, 100 shares at 1p is the same as 1 share at £1. And if I want to invest £1k, I can either buy ~100,000 shares today or ~1,000 after consolidation. The mcap is the focus, NOT the price per share!!)

If that's what they are doing (building a full picture before news) then why don't they just come out and say so?
