Fair comment, an alternative view might be the acquisitions are loss making and MM overpaid for them. Anything you own that cannot make money becomes a drag. I am bullish and heavily invested, however MM has got to get the loss per share into an EPS or close to it. Only then can he stick his middle finger up to the nay sayers and for sure we will see re ratings and a hard and fast rise in our SP. The historic comparatives only work once the business model is shown to work. Fingers crossed we get a great update after the all important Christmas trading period.

B1nky - You mentioned time running out on the golden share, I read an old RNS this would in 2022, however a poster shared that the golden share cancellation had been put on hold indefinitely by MM. Do we know which dates RNS stated it’s on hold assuming that’s correct?

Of course not the same but comparatives on many fronts could be deemed similar. They have better names partners in Sainsburys, M&S and so on. Much more upscale than Ingenuity. But similar sectors and are the interesting comparatives from a valuation perspective than when looked at in detail does make it hard to not think short on Ocado and long on THG. Make a good pairs trade to those that do that type of thing.

Be great to ask a professional analysist why the market caps are so different, rough and dirty data here:

So shares in issue x SP we have a market cap of
THG £950 million / Ocado £5,565 million.

I would portend the THG is better investment as it has more control selling its own products as well as logistics and SaaS (3 elements) vs Ocado’s logistics and SaaS as that’s part of their product range (2 elements). I can’t see any compelling business reasons aside the golden share & main listing why the 2 businesses would not be very similarly valued as indeed they have been previously. So a THG x5 upside that closes the valuations make THG around 300p. We need MM to become II friendly and we would see 300p quite quickly. (He is messing around suppressing the enterprise vale of THG so he can probably launch a 200p low ball take out offer and say told you it was worth more than 170p offered before (Of course he would talk down the value as well). However it’s a dangerous game because another conglomerate could see through it and without access to the books just offer 250p publicly. So does he decide to be City friendly and drive THG’s SP or hurry up perhaps before Christmas trading updates and make his move? Know idea, but sharing my thoughts which I hope are interesting and come to pass - GLA I do believe our patience will one day reward us :)

Well the data will likely show this year to be similar to previous updates but now a bigger company able to smartly absorb its fixed costs. Point being it’s probably reasonably worth 220 to 240p based up the previous principals/ ratios when the market was normal. It’s certainly worth we’ll north of 150p in todays markets and I’m sure we will see continued growth and later rising markets that make this an absolutely superb investment. The team are well lead by Sandy and are straight shooting nice team as well. I’m very pleased to be a holder and very happy with todays updates.

Well based upon risk of Covid-19 shopping, hassle, petrol costs, parking fees. I think we are very well placed for an excellent Christmas trading period. We are so convenient with an excellent selection and a lot of repeat customer orders. I was very pleasantly surprised we are still progressing well in this quieter period - More to come for sure. How will the yanks pull the SP down, pray tell us all jg68 when we are not listed in the US.

Trying to double guess people, ergonomics and trends, mini brainstorm on potential upsides:

1. Loys of loyal customers and repeat buys because you know what your getting.

2. Buy on line avoid risk of going out into crowded shops and catching Covid or flu.

3. Price of car insurance, risk of car damage, cost of petrol, cost of parking, hassle.

4. The lipstick factor so frequently talked about. Also no risk like buying whatever you could be mis-sold on Amazon or be sending back on Boohoo.

Most of the above is a pretty global copy and paste these days and THG looks to be better placed this Christmas than most - What are other folks perspectives per these thoughts? GLA

Only need it another 45p to get to break even, glad I followed W Buffets advice, making money is the patient taking money from the impatient. Fingers crossed we get back to that 170p offer and if lucky beyond. My fear is a low ball take out till / unless we get much higher.

There is another train of thought, what if MM is motivated to get the SP back over 500p. He go s from a multi millionaire to a multi billionaire with the shares he owns and all his friends think he is brilliant and he shows the city and the shorters how wrong they got it and that he should never be underestimated…..An alternative narrative that could be true

Broker upgrade this morning - Lots of positives on many fronts it seems for this vastly undervalued company.

Hopefully we’ll see a lot of our products being advertised on the pitch boards etc during the World Cup now (Every little helps). Good to be in the news on a nothing but positive front for a change. Nice 12% SP kick up and more rises to come I feel now.

Couldn’t be any worse, they knew this when doing the last fund raising (Dirty). Resignations as well plus a 12% spread so if you make 24% on a buy and sell your only break even. Totally uninvestable, shouldn’t be floated penny share of the worst kind.

EBITDA is misleading, they need to cut overheads and generate positive cash. The City have correctly shared THG is un-investable as it can’t make money more than it’s fixed costs plus overheads. So the gauntlet is on the ground and MM doesn’t have the business nouse to pick it and prove them wrong. If he can get to making a bottom line profit even a small one he would re assure investors no need for additional funding or share dilutions, some say he has been found out now and it’s a matter of time before he’s borrowing even more with intersect rising and his covenants won’t be met. If he does make real bottom line profit then the SP will soar like bird….Let’s see, time will out as it always does.

Oil maybe the new tobacco but when you don’t have any volumes of commercial oil for nearly 10 years then this becomes uninvestable. Market capitalisation is calculated as shares in issues x share price. It’s multifold overvalued, wait for the next dilution won’t be long now. A proposition for new and naive only investors. Facts are facts data is data. Definitely a strong sell when compare to other real companies in oversold positions like Supreme, Volex, AWE etc.

Need interest back to historical averages of around 6% to get inflation under control and also to sort out this cheap credit that encourages people to to spend money they don’t have. The more the government give away the higher the interest rates need to go. Kiss a**e Richi Sunak even new this and demonstrated some economic competency at least
