RE: Personal view on todays RNS20 Aug 2018 20:32
I was speaking to someone I know the other day who works for an investment company. He did not know of Solgold but I mentioned it to him and gave him a brief outline of the story so far.
He reminded me of something I new but what many here may have forgotten.
During the commodities boom a few years back many of the big mining houses badly got their fingers burnt, paying way over the odds for projects that where simply not profitable or never even got off the ground.
They have all learned their lesson. The name of the game is shareholder value and cutting costs nowadays.
In the old days projects would have been bought early, often for over the odds money, they were happy to take more risk, that's changed. The way now is to be more cautious, they would rather see all the evidence and have everything proven up. It will cost them more money for sure, but they see that as value, they have the money after all but they dread having billon dollar right downs on Thier balance sheets now. Lessons from the past!
