Agreed, A company exists to make money, that's the be all and end all. Big or small, and lots of people ie governments,media, Joe public etc seem to not understand that. If you buy a business you are doing it to make money, if you buy a share in a business, you are doing it to make money, the Americans get that, the Brits are still a bit slow on the up take. Investers own the company for the pay day, not to keep the government happy.

Im thinking the results at Aggi were not that good. I just cant see them holding on to the assey results if they were impressive. It has not been their style in the past. But who knows.

I'm quite sure NG did not "fiddle" anyone. This is a FTSE 100 company that is highly regulated by the financial authorities. Highly unlikely they are going to do something out in the open that is not legitimate

If your that interested why don't you do the investigation. I'm only giving an opinion from my own experience of consolidations. I've only been invested here since the new year so what happen has not affected me

If a company is consolidating by taking away some shares, everything being equal the remaining shares should go up in value, because the company is the same company just there are less shares in issue. If the shares slide it's quite often down to good old fashioned market forces.
