Lets say we are very lucky and have 3 tier 1 assets and a couple of smaller gold mines at the end of this year( very efficient drilling) would it not make sense to sell one and self finance something. You need to walk before you can run. Ps I was giving an example I dont expect us to have 5 assets of worth by year end. But Soonish with the right management

I can understand the love for Nick, but if you take a long hard look at the whole story, the word amateurish springs to mind.

No, it puts the pay day many many years away. Monetize the assets as we go. We have a portfolio of assets that will not be properly explored in our life times, we could well be sitting on 2 or3 tier one's already. Sell one and move on. Would you rather have an asset that pays you for life from now or win the lottery when you 99?

We took their money, which ever way you word it. They got more shares as a result. Mather was happy about that. We put in a standstill agreement to keep them at bay. That is now over. Business as usual. We need billions to go to production. Who ever provides that money will be the king pin. We will be the lackey. What most on here want is a far more sensible plan. Sell or jv some assets, use that cash to take something to production and give the shareholder a sweetner along the way.

What ever way we look at it, going it alone was impossible, someone,somewhere would have had to have payed for it. That would make them the boss not us.

I get that Quady, but the point I'm making is, do we think we can use BHP for a multi million pound top up when ever we need it, and in return they stay nicely on the sidelines as a minority shareholder and say and do nothing? Could that have carried on indefinitely like that until we got to production?
What did the board think would happen after the standstill expired?

Why did we issue more shares to BHP 1n 2018 then employ citi to help us defend a low ball offer in 2019?( That most people thought would come from BHP) Is that not a bit contradictory?

Nick was very happy about BHP and Newcrest becoming shareholders. He used to shout it from the roof tops at every presentation he made.
Did he and the board not know this could happen. Why in 2018 did we issue more shares to them? what was the thinking behind the standstill agreement at the time?

If its true, I think the board may simply have made an independent decision. They, like many on here, may simply think Nick's plan is unrealistic and not in shareholders interests. Going from explorer to major would be a bridge to far for most people to believe.
It's one thing Nick having fans on this board, but in all honest, how many of them truly know the first thing about the mining industry? Do any of us?
All the industry experts seem to believe it was highly unlikely.
The new members of the board may simply have thought, is he having a laugh, shall we put this to bed before he does some real damage to the company.

So not much to be worried about hopefully. Could be blue skies coming

Why would the board be doing this if it's not in the best interests of shareholders?
