For BHP or Newcrest to take over they need to buy lots of shares, who's selling to them and for how much?

I was pointing out the fact that some big issues such as the delay to PRS and cooperate governance, got to us from other entities whistle blowing and not from the company to begin with.
It does not really matter how many RNS releases there are persay,if there is no meat on the bone.
They can release an RNS to tell us Nick blew he's nose if they choose too. You have missed my point.
We find out very important stuff from third parties.

Maybe Nick resigned. We wont know until we hear from the company.

Probably the same source who knew the PFS was to be delayed before us, who knew the board was to be shaken up before us.
And pretty much the same source that we get all our information from. Because pretty much never seems to come via RNS. Contempt for small shareholders? No never from this CEO.

Why the presumption that this will go cheap now?
Would the board not be aware of that?
Does the famous " diverse book" not come into play?
Are the others players going to be knocking on the door of BHP and offering their shares extra cheap because Nick has gone?
These are genuine questions, it would be interesting to hear from people.

More likely that the company will be sold or more likely to be joint ventured. That will be very positive for the SP, simple. As usual some want to complicate things by over thinking.
The market does not worship the dream or Nick, as zoro rightly pointed out.

If Nick is pushed, I think the market will see this as a positive because a sale or jv looks far more likely. It which case the sp should do very nicely just in my opinion of course ( before I get insulted)

We brought in Citi to advise us. We got the chinese on to the register. We got into bed with Franco, all things BHP did not like. Why would we bend to them now if we are to be sold down the river?
I believe many in the company, just like many on here simply did not like what Nick was doing. I dont think this move is to please BHP. It's to please shareholders

And why would the board be so worried about BHP? And jump on there command?

Why would the board replace Mather if that was the case? They are there to improve solg not to destroy it.

If the board feel Nick has to go, they must feel we will be better off without him, ie that should be good for shareholders.

How do we see the SP reacting on Monday?

I'm excited about the company going in a fresh direction. But sad to see Nick go at the same time.
99% sure this source is correct.
The PI's are the last to know anything. I did think Nick has put his ego before shareholders personally. We will see what happens.

I would take £2 first thing monday morning , rather than sweating it out for 7 years chasing a dream. BHP if your reading, come make us an offer. Shareholders are listening !

We do forget sometimes that we were at 3p five years ago.
Human nature, we get used to things very quickly and can sometimes forget the road we have traveled.
When I read your posts sometimes my appetite does get whetted again lol.
I do tend to get bouts of impatients when the news dries up.
But I would prefer something major to happen this year.

I think it's unfair to say, some on here have a short term mindset. Some do, some dont.
Lots of people including myself who want a quicker resolution have been invested over 7 years.
If I asked Nick 7 years ago if we would be here today, were we are, he would have called me nuts.
Will you still be asking for patience in another 7 years?
Nick himself mentioned numerous exit points for shareholders along the way. Not everyone wants to be here in another 10 years . Nick should not expect that. And it's fair that not all should have to wait that long.
I have participated in fund raises along the way in the early days. We were told a different story.

I hear what your saying quady. I only said in jest about you working for the company.
I dont give any credibility to conspiracy theories. 99. 9% are completely non sensical.
I dont think they lie in the RNS's
But they are not capable of meeting any deadlines or objectives or getting anywhere near it seems to me. The longer term they make the project, the less likely they will be able to meet expectations all in my own opinion of course.
