The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Don't like to be picky but never sure how an increase in the R/I will bring down the price of oil, gas and electricity which are at the heart of the rise in the "cost of living" or how an increase in the R/I on mortgages, another vital component, will similarly reduce the rate of "inflation". Just saying.
Yippeeeeee! Looks like 21 people bought a few shares today (unless it was one person who bought 21 times). Mrs M overcome with excitement at the thought of a new Ann Summers outfit. Not often you get that sort of pressure on a SP I told her knowingly, but she seemed to think there were more people buying in the Co-op so was not convinced.
Mani : lets get back to 37p before we start all over again: and aim for 175p so I can repay Mrs M and many of us break-even. Then go for "Broker's Prediction" of £5 and we can then start pasting rocket ships and party invitations from past posts.
THE QUEEN IS DEAD: LONG LIVE THE KING!
Mrs M thinks RM should use what is left of her money to start up an hospitality business that arranges Conferences and Fora and Get Togethers in exotic locations so CEOs and Professors and all the WAGS can meet to exchange ideas (sic) sorry, Learned Papers, on obscure topics of vital interest to themselves. And at no cost to themselves: all paid for by "expenses" aka Donations of Investors Hard Earned Funds. GLALTHs!
And PS: call from Grandson: "Trust you took profit Grandad; SP plummets after expectations." Explained that at 10 yoa no one can expect to read the market like those of us with vast experience who remain in poverty. That told him!

Passed Mrs M on the stairs last night saying "Big day tomorrow My Drear; results out." She used that word she only uses in such circumstances with "joking"........ "so like the others the SP will plummet".
Will I never learn to heed her advice..... ...............
GLALTHs
And Mrs M, D: well, and me actually. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
So we can't go to the Cinema no more. Off to check out my DVDs and videos : much better than the modern c**p anyway.

I read all that out to Mrs M and she used that word she rarely uses......so I said it's perfectly straightforward my drear, just go get my supper.
Trust that time is healing Bz and that you are now able to look back on all the good times. Just have to take issue, if you will forgive, on Thomas Girds who with no knowledge whatsoever accused me of quote "lying through my teeth" after a quite harmless observation that I had got on board at 1.95p. So stand by HOff cos 1.83p is likely to be greeted with even more scorn. Sent my HL Contract Note but still greeted with distain from Gz but well done to you, me and Mrs M.
And thank you again Bz for your perceptive and informative contributions which have always made sense to my simplistic views of investing and reflect the best intentions of any BB. ATB OaU and usual caveats as Trek likes to close.
Quickly Mrs M come see this: it's that Thomas Girds (allegedly) who called us liars and that Bids was going down the tubes because the CEO was a ****er and a *****er also. It must be him my sweetness: I don't think that you are allowed to use the same name as someone else. Looks like we will never be back to 1.95p now. Good job we got in when we did: yes, just a little more, thank you.
Hooray: but then Mrs M said...so you bought in at c30p but now it's really happening so soaring to 16p: it's a good job you arn't in charge of the housekeeping! And what is it they do? They do digging and stuff...you just don't understand... go get my supper.
Mrs M asked for update on how the £80m was going so enthusiastically reported that RM - " you do know, he's the one in charge" - was travelling off to a Conference. She again used that word that she only uses at the mention of SNG and spoke with some passion of her experiences of "conferences" (and I have to accept mine also) which were an excuse for errrm and also for that too, and you handed out cards and then you joined another group for errrm and then it ended and you all went home to fill in the expenses form in office time. Then spent several days of office time writing the report of the stimulating experience and the widening of horizons and how valuable it would be to go to another one so we need more money errr expenses for development. No, no my sweetness: you don't understand: back to 225p in no time after his earth-moving speech met with rapturous applause. Bring on 37p and I'm out.
Went through the same Bz: condolences and best wishes from me and Mrs M. We have appreciated your thoughts since joining the BB.
My point entirely pi…..and as with lies eg Herr Schicklegruber…..if you tell one make it a big one then people will believe you. Look forward to another 400 or so insightful contributions tomo. ATB.
Ps : Also fascinated by the talk of that deadly sin "debt" probably by many who are themselves in "debt" and as most of the population are in "debt" and not least HM Gov. Sadly thrift went out of fashion with Mr Micawber and JM Keynes though still observed by Mrs M who is looking forward to her visit to the pictures come the winter evenings.
Sound sense AJ: can't see what all the fuss is about but it all makes for the modern delight for rumour of disaster, penury, famine, plague, and the ice caps melting. "Need more wood, Mrs M and don't forget to put the cat and the budgie on board." cf The Miller's Tale: better read than this BB.
Thank you Poker: couldn't have put it better myself: extraordinary hysteria "on a report". Told Mrs M that all Cinemas are closing down and she will just have TV to watch so will need to put popcorn on the Waitrose order. She found it difficult to believe........says she hears lots of reports, especially in the Daily Mail, but never takes much notice. Prefers to look at the real world not the virtual portrayal offered by "reports".
Was about to post mk.....news says "on a report"....Whose? When? on what basis? from whom? seems to me to be about as reliable as the BBC climate global warming reports following a bit of a drought.
ps AH : Mrs M says she is very glad that I don't contribute to the BBs of shares that I don't hold. She says it must be a full time job: has he nothing better to do? ATB
AH : do you mean 1980s or 80p? If you have made a "nice" profit at 80p then I for one would question your definition of "nice" and I do feel that your Aiming High nomenclature is also somewhat overstated, even more so if you boast of "nice" profits since 2021 - or perhaps that is just your area code. Since you have "sold out" I am mystified as to why you need to clutter this BB and wish you all the best as you seek further "nice" profits elsewhere. For myself and Mrs M I have a feeling that profits are going to be rather "nicer" between now and 2024 and not only for CINE. ATB to ALTHs
