Zinnwald should look for a tie up with these major battery makers to meet the new CRMA regulation.

10% of the Li has to be mined in the EU and 40% processed in the EU.

To be economic underground grades you would need 15cm at 62 g/t (2 oz per tonne) which would be 4.65g/t over a 2m mining width.

On average these grades are well short in the latest rns.

Stellantis to partner with CATL on €4.3bn LFP battery facility in Spain

In a joint announcement, the companies will work together on a joint venture to produce LFP batteries at a Stellantis’ facility in Zaragoza, Spain.

The project is targeting production to start by end of 2026 and the facility could reach up to 50GWh capacity.

Stellantis is looking to employ a dual-chemistry approach across its range of vehicles – lithium-ion nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) and lithium iron phosphate (LFP).

When you consider the other Lithium projects in Europe like Barossa and Jadar have no hope of seeing production giving the political and social opposition then Zinnwald is a good bet for CRMA support and financing.

I bet they will be offered a lot of free money to get this to production.

It will be interesting to see the critical project designations in January which I am sure will be granted to Zinnwald.

Rio Tinto's bet — one supported by some leading market observers — is that lithium prices have bottomed.

Rio Tinto Chief Executive Jakob Stausholm told analysts on Oct. 9 that the company has been "patiently studying the sector for a long time" to "enter the market and develop a lithium business of relevance and scale."

Stausholm believes lithium prices and demand will increase over the next 10 years.

I watched this and was impressed by the potential of this project. Already holding shares and happy to keep them. I think there is a strong value case for the project with so many positives compared to conventional truck and shovel mining so this will hopefully fly as the project becomes more de-risked. The emphasis on good technical work is encouraging and I prefer to see this than the hype around some other companies that value PR over good technical work.

Zinnwald Lithium is eying 2025 as a transformative year as it takes steps to finish its prefeasibility study and work towards being recognised as a strategic project under the EU's Critical Raw Materials Act. The company has hit several milestones this year, with the updated mineral resource estimate being one of the most significant. The company increased the mineral resource estimate of its zinnwaldite project in Saxony by 445%, to 429,000t of lithium-bearing granite in the measured and indicated category. Contained lithium was increased by 243%.

I have been following this a long time and hoping that it will deliver but I have had patience for Cobra that I didn't have for other companies.

Saxony Government Support for the Zinnwald Lithium Project

Zinnwald Lithium Plc (AIM:ZNWD) is pleased to note that this morning the Cabinet of the State of Saxony has instructed the Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Dulig, to conclude administrative agreements ("Agreements") with the German Federal Ministry of Economics ("BMWK") for two battery-chain projects in Saxony, one of which being the Zinnwald Lithium Project. The Agreements are to provide grant funding support for the Project by the State of Saxony in conjunction with the Federal Government under the EU's Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework ("TCTF").

This decision does not guarantee that funding will be secured under the TCTF. The Federal Government expects to make a formal decision on recommended projects during 2024 and final funding decisions at the end of the year. The Parliament of the State of Saxony will also need to formally approve its portion of any funding.
