Think I have £1,000,000.00 less Muckle after our Tailwind purchase - luckily I sold quite a few at 441p but still retain 575,000 which have done me no favours this year.

Like Newk, I have not re invested dividends here but built a nice portfolio of Investment Trusts that are all sitting on 5-10% profit this year.

In another 8 years if we keep the dividend payments I will be back to square one!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes rather perplexing that we have descended from 250p in mid October and 240p from the first week in October. Whats changed - Israel/Palestine and the potential for escalation? Oil Price reversed to $80 a brent barrel? America playing end games to significantly reduce the price of oil?

Strangely enough escalation would potentially send the oil price into orbit and the Oil price is priced the same as a year ago in both WTI and Brent. America it wouldn't surprise me at all .

So we either have results that indicate EPL has become a significant impact to our profits or are we looking at a possible bid / dilution for us folks again as the "business" grows.

Dividend halved going forward - who knows - but its disappointing to be plumbing these depths yet again, especially as dividend is due next week - another 9p docked and sub 200p - screaming buy as intimated offset by the Mercuria holding somewhat.

Appraisal Well would be music to the ears for Serica Energy rather than the normal 25-30% CoS. Perhaps Mercuria are running the slide rule over Parkmead and would like to replace Mitch Flegg as CEO of Serica with Tom Cross - how about a £20m offer and that golden hello - it would ensure he still gets to the Marcliffe charity bash and an elevated £900m salary going forward.

Fair play to them if they have got a meaningful average down. Been a long way down seeing as it was tipped in Questor Nov 21 at the princely sum of 70p ish.

I personally averaged down around 45p in Jun 22 and decided thats enough - urggh timing is everything but hey ho its not been a Griffin Mining or Kenmare Resources but I will hold and see.

Having read the BP Relinquishment Report a while back in Dec 21 for 9/9f, I always assumed that Serica would bid for this licence seeing as its abutting Bruce and has the Burdock discovery circa 30-40 mmboe estimate.

Seems BP has played a blinder with DNO and took the licence back in the 33rd round.

Given our dismal drilling over the years, perhaps 9 million (mid range) boe is not to be sneezed at.

With 130 million boe, 2p reserves (Serica 75 mill / Tailwind 55 mill) as of Jan 2023, we are currently producing around 45,000 boe per day - that certainly puts a hole each year in our reserves.

So no viable offtake for Kyle/Banff to continue production, leading to decommissioning, so one would assume Serica now think Bittern being 10km away is a viable route for the remaining hydrocarbons. We may well see 29/01c being taken up in the next awards with a couple of undeveloped discoveries.

Seems we are still pro north sea but hope they are still looking to diversify oversea's.

Who knows, but standing still is doing nothing for the sp.
