was looking at the FTO situation -would not like LRL to end up that way,holders seem to be a bit trapped tho they get some dividends,in the longer run in China if you are quite successful you get taken over,the deal would decide of course..

an article says China is desperate for fracked gas,or any other type of oil or gas.Their oil costs from October will above the US though they consume far more,due to the "shale fracking gap" and other discoveries including oil they have. See in commodities part of Market Oracle "How to Profit From China's Crude Oil Crisis". Agree that the LRL bosses- unless they are clinically insane- would not take on top execs. or consider splitting the co.

this isn't over,I expect the general share market to collapse fairly soon,set off by the end of QE,even just mentioning it seems bad- and the fiscal cliff.Also mining shares in a bear market since 2011 might not be affected as much.

AFF expect the Arrangement to be complete for the T/O at 31st October.No idea yet when the shares will pay out at the 80p agreed.Thanks again.

I hesitate to say this but MP did not in fact "get deals" in the form of long term company-makers.His success was his popularity with shareholders,in getting II's on board-yes there was a turnover there,and above all he was good at exploration and getting rich new finds.He was good at speeches at conferences having the rare magic touch.I still rate him higher than any other AIM office holder.The problem has been that no-one grasped the nettle when AFE had quite high SP's up to 17p when they were in a stronger position.Also most of the side projects were handed away virtually for nothing or for very long term royalties.Perhaps that is just history though ? NC has in fact made two big deals in his experience outside here.The magic touch must come from all of the parties involved.They certainly have acted as if there's something in the pipeline and appear a good team.Why did EW withdraw his claim which might have resulted in liquidation at one point ? The money from the Coburg deal wasn't spent on any new project,it was used in life support to get them to here.Why ? Surely we will find out within the extra month the £300,000 raised mostly from II's will have bought...GL

This company has had many lost hopes.Back in 2005-7 they had RRS on board and high hopes for copper in Zambia.Then they had many strong investors with finances.Then there was comparitive stability from 2009 to 2011 in a range from 4p to 17p. All long gone.It is now far more hand to mouth,the fund raising being mostly internally from II's.That £9.5m placing was a disaster back months ago.If anyone comes in they would have that sum anyway themselves.AFE is now worth only £2.38m- impossible to proceed with anything unless outside backers are got quite soon.The £300,000 might last another month ? There seems belief from the directors,NC,MP and Coburg that something can be done.AFE is already past where some thought it would be liquidated up till when claims were withdrawn.This is still a very big gamble for anyone with money in it.The spread is again up after going to 12.5% after the placing.Something must be done.GL.Sorry that sounds maybe a bit pessimistic, Ren m8.

MP is not an AFE Director but he will be well informed,probably is consulted by the Board and has still over 6m shares..

some say that a decision on QE mighnt not be made till the incoming Chairman comes in Jan.2014.Meantime we have the fiscal cliff coming in a few weeks.They expect the worst for that in late October/early November.My words I can see gold investing being quite good till at least then if not the rest of 2013..GL
