Did they have any other choices.No interest . No idea. You should ask them yourself
Seems like they couldnt do the deal with government . The "deal" is ongoing. Look at what UKEF does. It underwrites deals. It rarely just writes blank cheques. Look at the wording of the announcements. It wasn't only Premier that wanted to share the risk.
keeps mentioning great negotiators as though they cant do it themselves . No idea what the question is.

I would argue that Hurricane is not in a new territory. Has it needed to create new supply chains,legistlative programs and political dialogues?
Kosmos/Tullow are not exactly reaping the rewards from discovering so much oil. Tullow could be the next Afren and Kosmos hasn't been a good investment since listing.
So which company is doing a better job than Rockhopper?
I'm not saying Rockhopper is perfect but who has done the job of getting to first oil better?

There are some very good contributors on this site, and there are those that add very little value.
If I could be so bold as to change the subject slightly.
There seems to be a lot of criticism of the board, the change of T&Cs of the farmout and the length of time it is taking until first oil.
Can anyone show me an example of a company that has discovered, appraised, farmed out a new oil territory and possibly brought to first oil in a better way than Rockhopper?
Perhaps your criticism is valid, but if all you are doing is judging by your own expectations then it might be you that is in the wrong.
So , does anyone have any examples? I would be great to discuss the differences.

I haven't got time to read all the messages but would I be correct in thinking that there are a few desperately trying to find negatives in a hugely positive announcement?
We are not over the line yet but, like all the other information in the public domain, this is another piece of the jigsaw.
