This firm should do well with the increasing glutin free demand. Are we the only punters left? Happy Christmas and may the market makers smaile on you!
Welcome to the supporters club! This company is fiecely managed towards the profit aim and looks after its share holders. Foxed me a bit in regard to euro and GBP at first you can register to have your dividend paid in GBP. Either your broker or Capita in Dublin (I think) just google them and down load the form. Happy Christmas
will hopefully help SP rise again. Did we actually suffer a double whammy - Both the bid delayed/stopped and going ex div in the same week? Operating profits seem to be up and the balance sheet not bad. The Uniq purchase should yield good profits quite quickly as their factories at time of sale were making good operating profits and much of the adminisrative overhead etc will be absorbed and reduced into GNC's administration. How do you both see the future? BW MJ
Vindi Banga Non-Executive DirectorVindi was appointed in September 2011. He is a partner at private equity investment firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice. Prior to this, Vindi spent 33 years at Unilever plc, where he held a number of senior positions including President of the Global Foods, Home and Personal Care businesses, and was a member of the Unilever Executive Board.
This looks interesting also http://www.cdr-inc.com/professionals/partners.php on reading through the list of partners. Other food groups are mentioned also!
Thanks as ever for the research. Still hunting myself for more info. Without a named interested party or two the only other really attractive thing about GNC is the dividend and solid fundamentals to support it. They seem to be a very firmly run business with excellent buying power. Their sales should both remain high and grow as they start to build good relationships with M&S. Lets hope for some news. At Euro 0.71c I might have a mind to buy some more just for the dividend with the Euro at below 86p. A sort of each way bet?
Thanks Guzbod. Interesting reading indeed. Could SP exceed their max estimate in the heat of battle? (Be it takeover or buyout) - If it's a management buyout with or without partner(s) then the management must feel it's currently undervalued and be hoping for a bargain. Or do I read that wrong?
Guzbod - Thanks for the confirmation about UNIQ. I had bought into GNC before the takeover completed so got my 5 for 6. The money for my Uniq Shares arrived about 2 weeks ago. So I assumed that all was finalized. Is been a long journey but no looses, despite missing out on Uniq when it was 40p per old share many of which I had bought at 4.7p GRGH!!. Lesson - Must get an iphone or blackberry to keep in touch when on extended holiday. Hope Greencore SP will peak like Uniq did when selling off its European connections.
later yesterday and today has started with a good buy. I agree with your upbeat feelings regarding the SP. The takeover issue seems to be waiting to warm up. The way the food industry behaves when in gobble up mode is a bit unpredictable and some of the potential bidders have spent their money!!!
bought 3.4M shares or a 1% stake against market capitization and then managed to keep it quite for 5 days? !! Thanks for the comments Wooy and Guzbod. - yes, I failed to mention the historic dividend's current rate. It may be that this is holding back investors, wh for get that the divv was made against a 97 euro cents scenario. Please don't don't reduce it to mat current share price good green angels!!
and profit from the merger. A gentle drift upward as GNC digests UNIQ should give us a nice profit from this level. Once the euro settles it debts we could expect a further boost. I feel this is one to climb into early and be patient. Any thoughts to add to my thoughts.
Good to see some interest. Notice that two diectors now hold zero stock and the new names have bought in one big time. Today buyers exceeded sellers significantly.
Hi woolyback, interesting to see you into this area and talking Uniq? Yes been waiting for this one to go up also. Mainly because in these sad times the girls at work are eating more cakes!! ... and it used to yield well above average with good cover. Interesting to see the directors risking their money may be they know something Bla bla bla.. Normal nobody talks on this company's page. Can we liven it up a bit?
I guess I could sell nw and re-invest or wait until september and gain 1.66 p. My target investments are largish firms good yield and well covered with a likely hod of doing well over the next few years. Don't ask how I got into UNIQ but a friend said buy these when they were 4.7p. Please don't ask why greedy me did not sell at 40p - lesson learned! any one got any thoughts Iam already into GNC and happy with that.
My pocket feels better now those I bought at 4.7p have helped a lot. should one go straight into green core?
