Not too worried by the drop as it follows the FTSE100 fairly as does my fairly balanced portfolio. Both of which stood well against the recent vertically southwards slide of the FT. I'm in for dividend and steady capital appreciation over years the contracts and future look good for that.
I wonder how long any new set of leaders would need to turn this ship round. Will the creditors be patient? Will the shareholders give them the time? Are they now even capable of getting contracts with a reasonable margin anymore? My instincts tell me its time to bail out and suffer the 30% loss. Normally my share choice is for the long term and chosen for pension support dividend. - Missed badly on this one!! Bye folks.
on Friday very late Phew!!. Just could not see this happening with the prefered supplier deal etc. But maybe I should have seen the wrong paper as a dead end when they changed everything to be able to use it. Ah well win son loose a few and life's oK.
Total Total (Paris:FP) (LSE:TTA) (NYSE:TOT) Have these guys got a big interest in UK shale gas?
Just looked at SNP... not nice if you were in there at the beginning!! I feel a bit similiar regards RSA so I got out and used the cash to re-balance my sectors and get some income coming in SL. got 65% of the money .. SSE& PSON got some also. I like high dividends that increase with time by more than "cost of living" coupled long standing firm good results and size to resist the ups and downs of normal trading. Welcome to SL.
Thanks for that Comsman. The history helps. It must be nice to own ones own finance company and ship the cash around the balance sheets. The overall effect is roughly as I guessed, I guess. - one asset value up and the other asset value down. Sum of the parts unchanged!
How does this affect the balance sheet and shareholders? - if at all. CWC wholly owns Sable International Finance Limited ("SIFL"). - So is it just a shuffle around of money in the Balance sheets as they are, I guess, reported in a consolidated sheet as far as shareholders are concerned?
Rumoured any info available
Nice tick up this morning.
Hi, perhaps the price of gold and iron might go upwards - that would help!! However I rate this share 'hold' as a hostage to the UK debt problem. At least it makes its money elsewhere and if we get into trouble and it may well be safer than UK utilities and retail in the long run. Same goes for Billiton BLT. Have a good Christmas.
Hi folks, We had good news from China and Saudi in terms of orders didn't we ? So why down indeed? Are we waiting for contracts to be signed? And why are you sure that BA will be 500p by feb? Basically I am in BA for dividend and cost of living protection and sector spread so my view is as long as the divi keeps going upwards annually!!!
A group of related nominees declared 8.7% holding yesterday and today it looks as if each group of normal sized sells are quickly mopped up by a £10 to £20k buy on the fractional dip. It seems our firms shares are being watched closely and professionally. Any thoughts who is in the background?
Hi If the management team continue with their normal successes the divi should increase in line with the earnings and our capital value alongside that. They are very focused on the bottom line and have always (todate) shared their success with the shareholders. If my food sector was not so swollen by GNC I would buy more my only reason for selling would be to rebalance my sector %s and put some of the profit into a higher dividend area. I feel a dividend increase is probably due now so I will continue to hold. DYOR etc
Bought in today as it looks likely that they will do well with their web trading and in the meawhile maintain the divi. Fingers crossed anyway. Took the patiently earned profit on Tw. to pay for this one. DYOR
Your broker or his site should be able to tell you when it goes ex dividend. Buteo days drop might indicate that it has gone that way. I hold this one for dividend but it's actually my best groth stock. So why not buy cheaply in when its gone ex d. If you are looking long term. They are very active buyers of companies always seem to look after their shareholders and real do push to make a profit. As ever DYOR.
