Wonder how many more shares MA added on Friday to his 29.9% holding here. If he crossed over 30% then an Offer becomes Mandatory and would be coming next week...be it 5p or 8p or 10p....

Way I look at it....MA with his advisors must have had a restructuring plan of some sort before quoting 5p offer price.... Lot of number crunching goes in behind the scenes before deriving a base offer price. He wants control and might have already had an even improved restructuring finance terms....basically to say...folks go with my plan + cash offer of xx pence...

5p was his first shot to test the waters. I bet you MA and advisors working overtime this weekend to work out a knock out Bid for Debenhams either to BOD or go hostile and take it direct to shareholders.....including the BIG boys who hold plenty.

For the £99m they want MA to honour or back the financing deal terms...for the lenders .in case of "change of control"....i.e. Take over scenario which MA is considering after latest developments.

Derampers all out tonight....hmmm This is a recovery play + Take over angle. Debs have restructured the business....look at Thomas Cook turnaround story..... 11p to 185p in 12 months back in 2011-12... Some folks might be inclined towards quick profit on Take over...which won't enable realising full potential future value here. With cost savings as part of the turnaround plan....medium to long term value here is much much more than just 5p if you can hold it for 12-24 months.

on 8 May 2018... 10p revised offer price would be quite realistic. Anything above 10p would be a nice bonus.

Wow....that is 21% of total shares in issue. Buys were ahead of Sells at 2:1 ratio. Traders took their end of week profits in the afternoon...fair enough. Expecting another high volume day on Mon.

Clearly some derampers about...looking for lower entry??? Well this is at 40% discount to 5p already. .

Future is secured here. Obviously there are deal arrangement fees involved etc. And savings from restructuring the business in a turnaround. This looks set to be a massive recovery play either way imo. Would expect Fund managers building a stake here also.

Yep...BOD would decide first if offer price is fair OR reject if it undervalues the company. At that point MA can make a hostile bid and take it directly to shareholders albeit will need to be at even higher price then imo. just sitting tight here..

Yep...wait for all the weekend press coverage. Monday open would be quite interesting.

Either way MA has to improve on his 5p for starters to clinch the deal. Offer price would need to be sweetened from 5p in my opinion to sway the BOD. Debenhams with today's news in far stronger position than when MA offered 5p as his first shot.

Sorry bro....not sure what was highest price in past 12 months....other more knowledgable posters here would know better. I only joined the party last week...and staying here. Few years back this was trading at 60p. So Upside from current levels is very compelling.

Means future of Debenhams secured...which means future and Upside for Debenhams shareholders secured also... BOD can now extract better offer from MA and he knows it. Knock out bid from MA could be in 8-10p region in my opinion. 5p was his first shot to test waters.
