Heron and Gazelle are pretty much right on the fence of Petrochina producing oil wells.

Heron was 'Appraisal' well and it just proved....flow tests would just confirm rates to establish how big is potentialy the oil resource here.

RNS reaction was simply....Buy on rumour, Sell on news...why are folks even surprised. Next Heron-1 RNS would put this well into 'Double' figures imo.

Heron-1 is targeting 25MMbo but the wider Heron area is estimated to hold about 75-100mmbo. Company said they would do quick follow up drills if Heron-1 comes good. Same would apply for Gazelle-1,2,3 using same rig.

Red Deer is on top as bonus using a separate drill rig.

So we could end up with over 100mmbo just from Block XX (North) which is next to producing PetroChina oil fields.

Upside here is HUGE, the re-rate Upwards has not even started yet.

Heron-1 looking good. Hitting reservoir 5 metre early is great sign. Looking forward to Heron-2 and Heron-3 for setting up commercial production by Mongolian Company.

Seems like Mike Buck wanted to manage expectations without coming out too chirpy despite good oil shows. It is becoming clear now that Heron-1 looks very good. After testing flow rates, think we could be coming back for Heron-2 and Heron-3 soon after Gazelle as they will very quick to monetise bringing in good cash flow and become Self funded.

Don't forget Mike Buck has record of few Billion barrel discoveries during his cater to date. He might want MATD to be his biggest achievement to date.
