1) SAE getting their debt in order/controll and

2) Their executives getting a lower base-salary e.g. £80.000/year and the rest in form of stock options

Graham Reid makes £290.000/year according to simplywall.st and at the same time he does not own a single share. The f*****g CEO of the company does not own a single share.

I agree. But, like Strangy83, I want to state that this silence is terrible and a complete joke. This is not how you run a publicly tradet company if you think it has a future. There's no insiders who own any shares as far as I know and they do not try at all to inform the market on anything at all. Be it tidal energy or any other project they are working on.

This is more than atypical for a public enerprise. This is the worst display of public relations I have seen. Ever. I wouldn't even know what I should compare this to frankly.

So.. while I enjoy the exchange of thouhgs and information, I expect this company to at least the bare minimum to keep us informed and play the game of advertising the technology and the industry that they are in. None of this is the case. So what picture does this paint for us?

It's not a surprise that Proteus got mentioned instead of SAE beccause, after all, it was them who built and deployed that turbine there. No idea why you'd mention a company like SAE along the TIGER project as they have nothing to do with it except their 21% stake in Proteus.

What this company needs is something that kicks-off a hype and/or some FOMO.. I kinda thought that winning a CfD could do the trick but as it turns out, this wasn't the case. I guess at this point, there's just too much damage (debt) and it's very difficult to get out ot that hole.

Maybe if they can provide a sound financial plan for the AR5 money and pull off another contract this year things might turn around - after all .. it's guaranteed money/revenue..

At the end of the day however, tidal stream energy has to become much more visible and prominent such that investors flock in. This alone would drive this industry because, obviously, it would allow companies like SAE to raise more money. The problem is simply that we're not there yet.. if we ever will be..

They do get CFD money so.. I doubt they'll go belly up anytime soon. Since SAE is likely to get another contract this year even more so.

Proteus going down is really something this company wouldn't need right now but in any case, they own already 21% so.. 30% to go?

I think we all had and have our fair share of frustration with this company ..

@Mehmet66 while I absolutely understand your calming arguments, I do not thing there's anything right now we could be too satisfied with right now. We are left in the dark and, as stated by Strangy83, it's not even apparent what this company is actually doing now that they're not building turbines.

That's the question. To be fair, if they place £10m next year as well, then the budget actually didn't change. Remember, it's the first time another round came on year after the previous one so it's not completely illogical to, perhaps, adapt these budgets a bit.

That being said, if we want to reach net-zero fast then why cut back.. so that's where I'd say: ramp up the budget. Make it 10x for tidal. £100m this year and £200m next year and things thing might come on track.

The days where I was hoping #4 would be in the waters are over. I don't care if there are two, three, four, five, ten.. turbines in the water. The goals has to be hundreds of MWs deployed. MeyGen is a 400 MW capacity power plant. That's around 270 AR1500 or 200 AR2000 ..

Four turbines is not much different two zero turbines. It's a rounding error at this point.

The UK government needs to position themselves clearly for tidal stream energy - anything else is just this rotten back and forth. Without such a placement, SAE won't succeed in this sector and all we can hope is that they find a different way to not go bankrupt..

You know.. the worst thing about their bad comms is that I would leave us guessing and obsessing over things. Maybe even worse than things actually are. This silence is damaging on multiple levels.

Well.. okey I wasn't sure what you meant by "expensive". In that case.. the PE-ratio is similarly useful to determine whether or not a stock is expensive.

In fact, it tells you almost nothing. No idea why people keep looking at this metric. I blame Warren Buffet for this.

What do you mean by "expensive"? A stock is not "expensive" because of the price of a single share. SAEs shares could be worth £100 if there were only 85000 shares out there.. so.. the share price has absolutely nothing to do whether or not a stock is expensive..

I have around 317k shares @ € 0.047 that is a bit more than €15.000,-

That's not a lot of money for some, but it is for me. Regarding "topping up" or "averaging down" .. that's what I did. I did it after the Uskmouth Project call in and I did it after they received the CfD.

Now look where this got me. Still.. it falls under the category "play money" although I admit that right now I'd prefer to have those €15k instead of owning shares worth around €5k which I probably won't be able to (properly) sell right now.

As always on the marker: If there was an obvious or easy answer, then this will be reflected in the stock price rather quickly. How SAEs share price rocketed during Uskmouth and not after them receiving a 15 years (iirc) contract is beyond me but that's how it is.

But again: What more signs do you need? They sold ATES, they have a lot of debt, insiders didn't buy any shares whatsoever in years and we're waiting for the 4th turbine for.. how long was it out actually? Quite long it is..

At this point you should ask: Aren't there any other opportunities? There's plenty of other risky stocks out there which at least have working comms and are able to report significant progress .. or at least SOME progress .. on a regular basis. I'm eyeing the sort of Nikola, Solaredge or Enphase - although the latter is a very profitable company.

Why focus on SAE here so much? Just wait on the sidelines and look out for signals to buy. Not in your charts.. but in the news of course. Look what the UK government is doing and if you can clearly see SAE is going to benefit from that.

Other than that.. big opportunities are never obvious. The second they become obvious.. you'll notice.

But SAE is really, really far away from becoming a company worth hundreds of millions right now.. They have no cash either .. so whatever they do.. it is going to go along with debt and/or dilution. Others may correct me here.

Just forget it. If there was anything mentionworthy then they'd release that info.

It's pointless to ask unless you're a journalist or something. And even then you won't get more from them than what they can and/or are willing to share.

Look.. it's unlikely that SAE is going to fall much farther but I'm quite sure that for most of use that won't even make a big difference.

Right now the name of the game is "sit, wait and hope for the best" or "get as much of your money back as you can right now". These are the options.

I'm as mad as the next guy about their poor communications but tbh I think there's just not that much to report. Officially turbine 4 is being retrofitted (iirc), BESS is on the way kinda and (iirc again) then at the end of this year or somewhere next year we'll hear how they plan to finance the next MeyGen phase. I think that's about it.

I agree, I think they should be much louder and work together with other companies in that sector. Get a shared marketing budget or something and make sure people see and understand tidal energy..

But after so many years they are either not able to do this, for whatever reason, or they have learned/decided it's not worth the effort - some may disagree.

If SAE worries you too much: Just let it go. Either sell your shares or you know.. forget about it for one or two years. No point in trying to change something you can't change and to give SAE some slack: it's really not entirely their fault. They did deliver on their end. We have to acknowledge that despite facing significant losses. But there's simply no private money flowing in at which point they're entirely dependent by mood-swings in politics and their will to invest public money into this technology.

This too has never been a secret. It wasn't different with the Uskmouth project.

So... for your own mental healt: just let it go one way of another. Write off your money and forget about it. Maybe there's a small surprise in for you in a few years but just don't count on it.
