I can agree and see why we're a bit more optimistic today than a few days ago.

And I hate to be that guy but just view it like this:

If I am the CEO and I see my stock trades at 1 GBX, and, at the same time, I am confident that I'll turn this ship around and that this company is at least a 10GBX or maybe even more, then it's the easiest thing to turn £100,000 into £1,000,000 ..

And trust me, with a salary like this you simply have this kind of money on the side.

So... why on earth would you not invest?

And this is simply such a thorn in my eye. It does not at all speak for directors being confident. So why should I be?

This is a really big red flag to me. Yes, I know, they have some grants but this is not their own skin in the game. It's the skin of existing investors.

I might have turned too pessimistic by now. I do see that SAE struggles not due to miss management or incompetence. Most issues stem from bad luck and even worse political decisions that were never in SAEs hand.

It's mostly their poor comms. After the series of bad events and being down so much, reassuring words from management just won't do it for me though. Primarily because words like this didn't particularly correlate with the value of our investments.

There has been news and there are signs that this company isn't dead yet.

It wouldn't hurt if we saw insiders owning shares though. I know that they have been granted shares, but it's a long wait and I'd love to see them invest in addition to their grants. These grants aren't worth too much at the current SP. Seeing insiders buying more would do more for me than reassuring words to be frank.

At a market valuation og £6.5m, receiving £4m is quite significant I would argue.

But it's just not enough to pull the company completely out of their troubles.

Despite them winning a CfD, I am less and less convinced that tidal stream energy is going to be a significant player in the energy mix. Again, despite the CfD, my faith is at an all time low.

That being said, perhaps SAE won't shape the world with their tidal stream energy technology, but perhaps they may be able to pivot to a different endeavor.

Let's see where it goes. The good news: it can literally only go up from here. For us already invested, the investment can only remain worthless or recover. Cannot go below £0.

If Graham Reid can fix this mess and gives me a 10x I'm going to get there and congratulate him for having accomplished the almost impossible.

My average is at 0.043 GBX and I'm holding a bag of 317,600 (completely worthless) shares.

I keep asking myself if producing hydrogen would be an option. After all, tidal energy may produce energy during times where it's not needed and where it has to be stored.

At the same time, hydrogen is an important resource in various industries and soon maybe even in transport [1]. Wouldn't it make sense to produce hydrogen 24/7 using TSE as well? If it was cheap enough of course.

It could be sold as resource and/or fuel as it is, in the end, an energy storage by itself.

It's unfortunate that we do not have analyst coverage on SAE.. I'd love to know what the valuation currently looks like from this perspective. But perhaps it is what it is..

I remember, back then, their valuation was 65 GBX (yes 65) iirc after they announced the Uskmouth conversion plan.

Since then we've seen a lot of dilution, the demise of the conversion project and so on.

So, where are we now and where are we heading given BESS and the CfD contract(s)?

In any case, it's a waiting game. I'm just hoping SAE is able to attract institutional investors at some point along the way to get back to a not almost zero market capitalization..

What I keep asking myself is how much dilution might be ahead of us given the fact SAE is going to need money.

Unless they have a certain deal with Proteus which let's them pay off turbines as they generate revenue. Would be nice..

Agree. Let's wait. While it's hard to feel top much positivity at the moment, one thing seems to be true: SAE is still keeping their head above the water.

It is perhaps beyond my understanding how they can recover from all the things that happened in the past. Here is another truth: I view my investment currently as "dead". From that perspective.. there's only ways up.

CfD AR5 will be decided in September as it seems. I hope we get positive news on AR4 and the additional 28MW soon(ish). Expectations are low. The happier I am going to be should this turn around.

I wish I was able to predict the value of this company in 5 years. If it's 10x, that would be a valuation around £70m, I wouldn't be mad.

@munin unfortunately not. He wasn't able to keep an eye on it but we joked about a webcam that he could set up there. I jokingly said "why not make a gofundme". Shouldn't be too expensive to set something up with a scope and a camera but the question is also whether it is worth the effort

They do not mention the removal of one turbine. What is going on? Idk if they took it back down but they clearly lifted one up.

Graham Reid makes £290.000 per year.

This is what I'd prefer:

Give him £90k per year and the rest in form of equity. Vesting period 4 years, 1 year cliff.
